• Jan. 8, 2009 - The Lord is GOOD!!!

Well today I was feeling a little uneasy about somethings with our homeschooling and if I was doing the right thing.....I came across a blog by another homeschooling mom who in someways was feeling some of the same things I was. After reading the post she wrote I was led to pray and just give it all to God and ask Him what He wants me to do with it all, what curriculum should we use etc.....Lo and behold right after I prayed I scrolled down to the next post and there it was the very answer to everything I had just prayed for, it was so cool......the most instantaneous answer to prayer I have ever experienced!!!! He is FAITHFUL!!!!

• Dec. 30, 2008 - Hello All

Well here we are, so far a family of 7 and I am the only female in the bunch!!! But I am so blessed with all these guys and hope to be blessed with at least one daughter!
Well about 2 years ago now we decided to start homeschooling our oldest two boys. Circumstances in the public school here were quite awful for them as they were targeted by many bullies. After a very serious and physical altercation our eldest son would not return to school and the next oldest was close behind. Our middle son Danny attended Kindergarten but was very hesitant to go to school for the last few months due to circumstances much the same!!! Well all in all I thank God that I am able to teach them at home and have found an abundance of awesome materials, unit studies and exciting things for them to do!! But let me tell you, homeschooling 4 boys plus a baby is a challenge. We have our good days and then every now and then we have one of THOSE days....ha ha ha.
This year we have been doing some lapbooking as well notebooking. I was so happy to have found out about this because the boys have really taken to it and they are learning so much more. THey also love to show their work to family and friend who come by. Whoever thought of it is a genius!!! I highly recommend it to any homeschooler especially if you have boys!!!
We keep busy with different extra-curricular activities such as hockey, badminton, skiing, bowling, and outdoors walks, bike rides or hikes.
All in all I have truly enjoyed this experience and am excited for what the Lord has in store for us.
God Bless you all.
Roxy

About Me

Well we follow different curriculum, not just one, but I try to make it as interesting for my boys as I can, therefore I allow then to help with planning as much as possible....so it is somewhat child-directed.
