Starting the school year off right
We started school early this year. Mandie was very excited and pushy about starting early. This year she is doing language, math, vocabulary (SAT list), home economics and her favorite history. This truly doesn't cover all that she does study. For instance she is learning many things this year. She is beginning with English riding lessons. We have signed up for basketball. We had paid for her to be on a danceline this year but not being enrolled a the public school stopped that at the last minute. She was pretty upset about it since she had a good friend on the danceline. We have studied mythology briefly and are also doing a bit of geology.
Mandy also now has a dirt bike. She has been tearing up some dirt for about two months now! Enough for today I have classes this morning. |

SUMMERTIME LESSONS IN ECONOMICS
Mandie is loving her lessons now! Even with the heat of summer beginning to rise she is still ready to go. Yesterday she went with another homeschool friend and spent fuve hours at the pool. Great physical work out for PE. I would be burnt beyond recognition but thankfully she uses her sunscreen! Saturday she had her fourth riding lesson. I took pictures of course and wanted to share.

These lessons have turned out to be teaching Mandie even more real world lessons. She has arranged with her Instructor to work for extra riding time. Never too early to learn that if you work hard you can achieve your goals. |

All About Me

Quick Catch Up
I shall start at the High School level. I graduated from Monticello New York High School in 1978. After that things went wild for awhile! Eventually, I met (1982) and married
my wonderful husband Roger. I graduated from New World College with an Associates Degree in Business Computer Operations (1992) but, Bill Gates didn't like me and he invented an operating system called windows to replace me! Just Joking folks. I am currently a junior at Jacksonville State University, working on my Bachelor of Fine Arts. I homeschool my twelve year old daughter while attending classes full time. I have just begun an internship with Scratch Studio. Hopefully when I am done I will be employed and Bill Gates won't put me on the unemployment line again. Hey no harm done Bill while I was out of work I had my beautiful baby girl who is the center of our universe.

The Mad Scientest
I found a great link on another Mom's site and wanted to share it with everyone. You can get an e-book your kids will love for free. You can get it here.
In just twenty minutes from downloading this my daughter went crazy and had to do an experiment. We made this photo show to share. It looks like a really big mess but cleaned up fairly easily. REALLY
Watch the Mad Scientest Show here.
There were other free ebooks so why not check it out if you have time.
Thanks to "momwith3kids" for a great find.
Look out world God has blessed me with a blog!

Hornby Island Eagles Nest
I have been watching the eagles live video stream with my daughter and keeping an eye on the eggs. Some people have been jumping the gun so to say and saying they have hatched. I haven't seen a baby yet though. I wondered if anyone else here has been watching God's wonderful gift to us? I have been rather engrossed by watching this pair of eagles and the two eggs they have. The first egg was laid March 21 and the next four days later. Generally takes about 35 days to hatch. This pair of eagles is in someones front yard on Hornby Island. There is a cam placed in another tree not too far and you can watch this live feed. My twelve year old daughter seems to be a little less involved than I am but, I can't help watching what has never been seen before. It is fantastic. I have another browser open right now watching closely to see if the mama eagle will get up and stretch or if that baby who seems to be overdue will finally come into this great big world.
