Well, I saw the latest Phantom of the Opera recently and I love it [
]. It was so awesome.

First of all, the music/songs was/were fantastic--filled with such emotion. Sometimes they were romantic [
], other times they made you feel so sad [
] and sympathetic, and all of the rest you were just in awe of the music. The Phantom [played by Gerard Butler, http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0124930/ ] was my favorite singer in the movie. I love his voice--not to mention, he's very good-looking, even better-looking than Raoul, I think. The girl who plays Christine [Emmy Rossum, http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0002536/ ] has a beautiful voice and I loved the girl who played Meg--her voice was very good, I think.
The costumes were awesome and the storyline was cool--of course, you probably know it but here is what it says on IMDB:
"The Phantom of the Opera" is a magnificent tale that begins when an opera ghost terrorizes the cast and crew of the French Opera House while tutoring a chorus girl. He finally drives the lead soprano crazy so she and her friend leave. The girl is able to sing lead one night but the soprano doesn't want her show stolen so she comes back. The ghost demands they keep giving his protoge lead roles. Meanwhile, His pupil falls in love with the Vicomte de Chagny, but the Phantom is in love with Christine, his student. The Phantom is outraged by their love and kidnaps Christine to be his eternal bride. Will Raoul, the Vicomte, be able to stop this dastardly plan? Watch and find out.
So, there you go. You should watch "The Phantom of the Opera" [after your parents research it--it's rated PG-13--and give the "OK".]

Just Like Heaven was not so (look at title if you are confused by this statement). Just Like Heaven should have been called "Just Like Nothing to Report" (
). It was somewhat entertaining most of the time but other times I found myself looking at Reese Witherspoon's hair and thinking about how I did not like it. For me, that's not a good sign. The concept was interesting but there were no spaceships, no swordfighting, no lightsaber duels, no suspense, no running away from bad guys, no bad guys to run from, just nothing exciting! (Continued below picture)

On a happier note, I did enjoy Jon Heder's character and Reese WItherspoon's character's sister (am I making any sense?).
Maybe I just have a different taste in movies. I NEED SOME EXCITEMENT! <---(At least, in my movies.) I am not a chick flick girl (<--I did kind of like First Daughter and I loved The Wedding Planner but that last one was funny and there were people running around so...)

Today I finished watching the extremely long T.V. mini-series (first seen in 1977) Roots. It was long and depressing (
) but in the end they were finally happy (
). It takes place over four or five generations from Kunta Kinte (above, played by LeVar Burton<--correct spelling?) who is taken from Africa to be a slave in America to his great-grandson, Tom (?) who is finally freed (two times, I guess). It's quite long and--did I mention?--depressing.
I thought that the way they made up young people to look old was kind of cool. The picture below is a comparison of (in the movie) Kunta Kinte's daughter young and then as she was when they made her look like she was 83 years old. I read on the girl below's website that it took five hours to make her up like she was on the right. That's a lot of reading time.

More Later.

(The above picture is of the three main characters of Surface, which includes Lizard boy a.k.a. "Miles" a.k.a. Carter What's-his-face)
Well, last night was the season finale to Surface and I watched it today. It was awesome but I'm sad that I won't see another new Surface episode for a while. It was weird that it's season ended in February.
I ought to go.

Well, I just now (only a moment ago) finished reading the book, "Great Expectations". It made me feel so sad and depressed (
)! I'm serious! The closer I got to the end, the sadder I felt! I actually cried (
) and/or teared-up a couple times. I read at least 100 pages--and that was just today! I'm pretty sure that I already mentioned that it was 460 pages long. It took me forever to read it but I have, indeed, finshed it.
There were a lot of differences in punctuations and that made it a bit confusing at times. Like I already stated, sometimes you had to read something again to understand what it said. I liked how instead of saying "twenty-four", they would say "four and twenty". I don't know if that's just the way they said it in England back in Charles Dickens' day or if that's how everyone spoke back then.
Over all, I thought that "Great Expectations" was a wonderful literary work--but pretty depressing. I enjoyed the little bits of humor--for instance, there was a part where Dickens said that someone was reading a book and holding their head as though the amount of knowledge would make his head explode--something like that (those weren't his exact words, though). I felt that the ending had a feeling of sweet sorrow (I'm not going to tell you how it ends--you'll just have to read it yourself!).
Tomorrow is high school book discussion. I'm curious as to how many people in the class actually read the book (most of the time not everyone reads the book). If they can't always read a book that's not real long, then I wonder how they could read a 460 page long book?
Well, I ought to go. I'll talk more later (
). I hope you're doing well! Bye!
(<--Eat your green vegetables! LOL)
(The picture below is one I got off the internet of Miss Havisham and Pip from "Great Expectations".)

(Today I started watching "The Pirates of the Caribbean". Can you tell?)
I have been reading "Great Expectations" for a while now and I like it a lot. It was written by a man from England so he uses wording that I don't understand at first but when I read it again it makes sense and is sometimes even funny (
). I really have enjoyed reading it. Charles Dickens really writes in depth about the appearance and personality of the characters (even the not-so-important ones). Well, I gotta go! I'm sorry!

Have any of you seen/been watching the T.V. show, "Surface"? I love that show! I just watched last night's episode today and--wow. It's awesome. The picture above is of this guy, Carter Jenkins who is on that show. If you click on the link to your left that says "Internet Movie Database" and put "Carter Jenkins", you can find out all about him and what movies/T.V. shows he's been in. (Also, try looking up "Surface" on there.)
The season finale of "Surface" is going to be on next Monday night (
) and my parents will record it--or I'll have to stay home and not go to our church's girl-scout type thing.
Gotta go.

I found out that high school book discussion is not until February 6th--Phew! Just thought I'd tell you that.
Well, I am drawing a picture for Oklahoma History Class (which IS this Monday). The subject--What was life like in Oklahoma between 1890-1907 (when it became a state). So far I'm pretty proud of it.
(The picture below of Eowyn is just there because I like it.)

Today I began reading Charles Dickens' "Great Expectations" for High School Book Discussion on Monday. I'll have to keep you posted on that. It's pretty good so far. I'll have to read pretty fast, though because it's over 400 pages long and I have to finish it in about 5 days.
Gotta run.
