Nestled in the heart of blackberry country, our home and school serve as a refuge to our souls. I am a home schooling mom of four and our family lives, loves and learns in the scenic countyside. A breath taking view of the ever changing and majestic Mt. St. Helens can be taken in from our giant living room and kitchen windows. (See a photo of the mountain in my slide show located below.) We have a front row seat to the mountain's many moods and faces. Each day in our country refuge brings a new adventure as we seek to serve and glorify the Lord!
Okay...so I spoil my kitty. Mr. Murphy - our barn cat - arrives at our kitchen, deck window every morning precisely around 8:30 AM. While the kids and I are finishing up our cereal or waffles, guess who shows up begging at the window? Normally he will jump up on the window sill and stare in at us, with a look on his face that begs, "Where's mine?" I suppose it is the nurturing momma in me that prompts me to set aside my own breakfast for a moment, run for the fridge to grab the milk, and then quickly retrieve his white bowl from the sill. I Fill the bowl half way with milk, pop it in the microwave for 8 seconds, and then plop it outside for my tubby feline to lap up. On this particular morning - for whatever reason - Murphy decided to stand on his hind legs to have his morning treat instead of hopping upon the window sill. How could I not snap a photo? His antics are just the start of this mom's normal home school day - and I love spoiling my cat as part of it!
Hee-hee! That's really cute! How could you resist!?! :)
Thanks for stopping by tonight! It was fun to see comments from you!
I'd like to hear your guess on the baby's name- email me! :) alyssalore@wildblue.net . The pregnancy's going well, thanks for asking! I'm due July 3rd.
It has been pretty nice and sunny lately- you can almost smell spring in the air!
I got Alek's slippers at this little booth in the mall in Silverdale. They have a website: www.buyhappyfeet.com . They had all sorts of cute slippers to choose from.
Talk to you later!
Love, Alyssa
What are you using for history now? We love BF books but I know they can only take me to a certain grade level. How is the weather in WA? I'm not missing the snow and freezing fog at all.
COuldn't help but notice the picture and imagine Mr Murphy purring at this great pleasure! My daughter is looking for a kitten since her last cat came up missing last summer. (a real legend of a cat tooo-we all miss him! A cat that will jump in the creek with our labrador is quite a cat!! WE believe an unfortunate accident must have claimed his life (since we have more than our share of wildanimals about-including coyotes etc) THough he was kept in the barn at night -one late afternoon he ate his supper went scouting in the woods and never came home. We love the various animals that live here-so we will add a cat again soon!
