I heard
the kids playing in the playroom. It seemed that they were
playing some sort of pretend game. I smiled to myself and thought
about how they can really play so well together--most of the
time. In due time, however, it was time for me to break in and
tell them to get ready, we were going to be leaving the house.
When I stepped in the doorway prepared to make my announcement I
immediately saw THIS sweet face and child standing on the train
table. His 7-year-old brother stood poised with a blue dry-erase
marker applying the artwork.

And my immediate
respone? I grinned. I grinned from ear to ear. I
almost let out a loud chuckle but had to escape and run to my room
before they heard, for fear they would believe I approved of their
actions! With giggles under my breath, I told Steve that he'd
better go to the playroom and lay out a parenting "tirade" because I
just wasn't capable of doing it. I found it too humorous. I
mean, I was upset, but I just couldn't make myself
sound
upset. So Steve did go (I warned him that what he was about to
see would be pretty funny) and he took the camera with him to capture
this shot. He was able to remind them--with discreet force--that
dry-erase markers were only to be used with supervision and only on the
dry-erase board.
Daniel was so willing and cooperative to be
under-going this make-over. I'm not sure what HE was
thinking. But I did question Joshua on it later, and I found out
that they were playing "Super-hero." Daniel was going to be
"Water Boy". Joshua was going to apply the red marker to his face
and be "Fire Boy." And Caleb was going to get a black color
treatment and become "Bat Boy" or "Nighttime Boy," I'm not sure.
Thankfully, it was simple to remove with a wet wipe, especially since we were heading off to Bible study!!

Aug. 16, 2005 - Oh my!
ROFL! And the blue matches his pretty blue eyes so beautifully, too! I don't blame you for laughing - I doubt I could've kept a straight face, either!

I was just going to also comment on how pretty it matched his BEAUTIFUL blue eyes. LOL! Oh that IS too funny. Good for you mom, for laughing instead of yelling. And good for dad for capturing the picture. Now you'll never forget the day your little Superheros got a make-over!

Glad you 'captured' this great look. :) Won't that be treasured when he's going off to college. :)
