Our Second Day!
What
a great day! Did I mention I love being my son's teacher?
Sure it's frustrating from time to time, but overall it is pure joy and
so much fun! Tried to do worksheets (math) again
this morning while Caleb and Daniel were awake. Still felt like I
couldn't give anyone the right amount of attention. Daniel wanted
me all the time ("Mmmmoooommmmmie, Mmmmooooommmmeeeeee...." ), and I couldn't direct Caleb's work in his workbook so he filled up about 4 pages with a bunch of blue circles . And Joshua did ok, but I felt like I wanted to go over in detail what he was doing.
Overall it went well. The fun part was when we
got on the floor to do some hands-on activities. Caleb was
sorting animals (farm, Pooh, wild, dinosaurs).

Joshua and I were
playing "Make 10"--a fun card game to review math. Daniel was
just hard to keep out of everything. I still need to figure that
out! This afternoon Joshua and I had some good
seat work time at the kitchen table during nap. We covered
phonics, handwriting (more work on the hen--I'll post the finished
product on Friday), and we read from our history text. I hope to
do a lot of map work with this text and even set up a timeline!
That will be exciting. History is definitely one area I'm
learning RIGHT ALONGSIDE Joshua!
And Joshua practiced piano today without any
reminders. He recorded his practice for me and we worked through
the duet! Fun. P.E. was outdoor playtime
this morning. Still too hot in the afternoon. The kids
played in a large TV box we had from when we bought our new TV last
spring. They were pretending it was a jail, a movie theater, a
transporter, and then some sort of vehicle because they were rolling in
it all over the yard. Oh and Caleb has learned to swing all by
himself! What a fun day it was!

I'm a Christian, homeschooling mommy of 4 blessings--3 awesome boys and 1 precious girl. One major goal in my life is to raise these children, whom God has entrusted to me, to first love and serve Him and second to become life-long learners. Only by God's grace am I given this awesome and very rewarding experience! It's my joy and pleasure to share some of my journey in this blog.
