Our 24th Year

Nov. 5, 2006 - Psalm 15

Like most people, I love the Psalms.  On a forum I belong to ( http://forums.hebrew4christians.com ), a couple of us have started going through some of the Psalms, and just telling a little about what we see in them.  This is the first one I wrote.  Brief!

Quote:
"O LORD, who may abide in Your tent?
       Who may dwell on Your holy hill?
  2 He who walks with integrity, and works righteousness,
       And speaks truth in his heart.
  3 He does not slander with his tongue,
       Nor does evil to his neighbor,
       Nor takes up a reproach against his friend;
  4 In whose eyes a reprobate is despised,
       But who honors those who fear the LORD;
       He swears to his own hurt and does not change;
  5 He does not put out his money at interest,
       Nor does he take a bribe against the innocent
       He who does these things will never be shaken.

O L-rd, who may abide in Your tent?  Who may dwell on Your Holy hill?  We know that it is those who are redeemed, those who have Yeshua (Jesus) as their Messiah, and that this is indeed by His grace.

Verses two through five show the changes that happen in the life of a believer.  He begins to understand what was done for him, and learns to live in a way that shows love for the Messiah and an appreciation for His gift of salvation.

Thanks for your comment about the tomato staking with my dd. I love your Blog!! I haven't read your profile, but it looks like your familiy is Jewish. I have always had so much respect for Jews who see Jesus in the bible. I'm going to add you to my friends list.

Thanks again!

Nov. 11, 2006 - I like this Psalm

Posted by MoreLittleWilsons
I've never really looked closely at this Psalm, but I do like Verse 5. I hear way too many Christians these days saying they have to file for bancruptcy, or that they're drowning in debt. I understand that sometimes life throws you a curve ball, medical bills or joblessness causing one to fall behind, but even folks who are well off - are remunerated well at their employ, and yet they don't heed the part of verse 5 that says not to use your money to pay interest. My hubby taught me from before we were married that we would never pay interest on a credit card. Unfortunately we are paying interest on our home, and on Student loans, but our vehicles are ours and everything in our home is paid for interest free, and all our utilities are paid for interest free.

Thanks for illuminating this Psalm. I'm going to go to H4C and see what other Psalms are there.
