Our 24th Year

Nov. 11, 2006 - Kristallnacht: The Night of Broken Glass

On the night of November 9, 1938, a horrific event occurred in Eastern Europe which came to be known as "Kristallnacht", or the "Night of the Broken Glass".  In one night, 1574 Jewish synagogues were burned to the ground or destroyed; over 1,300 Jews were killed; 30,000 Jews were arrested and sent to concentration camps; 7,000 Jewish businesses were destroyed; and thousands of Jewish homes were ransacked by Nazi stormtroopers and non-Jewish civilians.

Let us not forget.

I want my children to know what happened to so many Jewish people and what can happen again if the past is forgotten.
