Dec. 3, 2006 - What I am Reading
I read The Good Earth by Pearl S. Buck in early high school, not as an assignment, but just to read it. My sister, Jill, and I read voraciously! Every day after school we would change clothes and plop down on our beds with a good book. One of our favorites was Caddie Woodlawn. We read that over and over. But we were always reading something, from Nancy Drew to For Whom the Bell Tolls.
When I was in Barnes and Noble last week, I saw The Good Earth, and decided to read it again. I had saved up $30 worth of Barnes and Noble gift cards that I got from MyPoints. I also picked up a Hebrew Letter calendar and another book. All for free!!

| I was surprised to find a comment on my blog. I try so hard to be honest with where I am at. I read your page. We are still in the early years. Our two oldest are 25 & 18. We have 6 children 10 and under. I love books and my husband teases me about not needing to build a home but a library!!! We are currently in a very small home and I have to be very creative with space:) |

| I grew up a reader too. I loved the "older" books written in the 1930's on up though I was not a Christian at the time or even knowingly appreciated "older" things. I enjoyed the slower, more peaceful stories/pictures. Now I enjoy buying "vintage" book lots for the children on eBay. :-) Blessings! Kris |

Caddie Woodlawn was one of my favorites growing up, too. Have you read its sequel, Magical Melons?
Good for you to get free books. Bravo! |
