We serve an awesome God who provides for both our needs and the desires of our hearts. I have so many testimonies of God's provision that I am going to start a new category for them called "Jehovah-Jireh."
Last week I went grocery shopping. I took our 3 girls with me and left the 3 boys at home with their Daddy. I had to hurry through my errands so I could be home in time for hubby to leave for work so I ended up not making it to the fruit market. When I got home, my daughter realized we didn't buy bananas. I said, "Well, I cannot get back to the store for a few days, but if you pray for bananas, I'm sure the Lord will send someone over with them." So we prayed together.
Two days later, the little boy from next door knocked on the front door. When I opened it, he handed me a gallon of milk and a bunch of bananas and said, "My dad picked this up for you on his way home from work." He has never done such a thing before! I told the boy to tell his dad that we very much appreciated the milk and bananas and that the Lord had used him to answer my daughter's prayer.
What an incredible blessing. Something so seemingly small, and yet the Lord heard and answered our prayer. My children had a lesson in the faithfulness of God. I pray that this experience was also a testimony to my neighbor of God's care, as he is a "casual Christian" going through a difficult time.
Praise the Lord!
