May. 12, 2008 - Updated Reading List/Spring Reading Thing

I have added some more books to my finished list.  I am working on the books from my Spring Reading Thing List.

Here's my current list:

Every Day Deserves a Chance - Max Lucado (NF)
A Thousand Splendid Suns - Khaled Hosseini
The Hand that Bears the Sword (book 2 of a series) - George Bryan Polivka
Home to Holly Springs - Jan Karon
Sunrise - Karen Kingsbury
Summer - Karen Kingsbury
The Memory Keepers Daughter - Kim Edwards
Jacob's List - Stephanie Grace Whitson
Don't Waste Your Life - John Piper
War of the Worldviews (from AIG)
Echoes - Kristen Heitzmann
Life Management for Busy Women - Elizabeth George
Children of Hurin - JRR Tolkien
Someday -Karen Kingsbury
Ever Present Danger -Kathy Herman
Uncharted -  Angela Hunt
Playing for Pizza - John Grisham
The Kite Runner -  Khaled Hosseini                                                                                                                     Never Look Back - Kathy Hermann
Grave Risk - Hannah Alexander
The Appeal - John Grisham
The Long Awaited Child- Tracie Peterson

Anxiety Attacked- John MacArthur- a very convicting book; the thing that stood out to me most and helped me in my daily life was the reminder to replace anxiety with prayer and Thanksgiving.

The Five Love Languages of Children- Gary Chapman- Even though I've read the original book about love languages, it was good to be able to relate it to my kids.  He especially emphasized the need to use your child's love language in discipline and the links between anger and the love languages.

Crimson Eve- Brandilyn Collins- a great Christian fiction thriller!

Mark's Story- Tim LaHaye and Jerry Jenkins- Okay, I didn't like this one much.  I NEVER quit a book in the middle, but I'll confess I "skimmed" the end.  In my opinion, I thought the real Scriptural stuff was blended to closely to the made up stuff. (The book was about Mark- the author of the Gospel.)  Sorry to anyone who read it and really liked it.

Bad Ground- Dale Cramer- I haven't read his other book, but I will certainly look it up.  This was a great Christian fiction read with great descriptions and character development!

The Lost Sheep- Brandt Dodson- This was okay.  I don't prefer books written in third person, but I have read the whole series of his, and they are good Christian mystery/suspense books.

Currently Reading:

Will Medicine Stop the Pain?  by Elyse Fitzpatrick and Laura Hedrickson
Forty to Life by Dave Jackson

So, here is what I still have on my Spring Reading Thing List:

Overcoming Fear, Worry, and Anxiety  by Elyse Fitzpatrick
Will Medicine Stop the Pain by Elyse Fitzpatrick and Laura Hendrickson

I just might make it. :-)

What an awesome list of reading you have there! I am an avid reader myself, although trying to find the time to sneak in a book or two has proben difficult lately, but hopefully that will change soon with school coming to a close.

I pray that you are all well and you will have a wonderful weekend!

Blessings~
