May. 16, 2008 - Children Are a Gift From the Lord
I was having one of "those" days today. Do you know what kind of day I mean? The kind of day when EVERY child is getting on your nerves. I hate to admit that I have days like that. I love my children immeasurably. But, every once in a while, I have a day where I think if anyone says anything else, asks me anything else, or needs anything else, I think I will pull out all my hair (and maybe theirs too!).
I know no one else has days like that.
I was counting down the minutes until bedtime, and I took Ashlyne and Rachel into their rooms to read their Bible story for bed. You'll never believe the title of their lesson:
CHILDREN ARE A GIFT FROM THE LORD
Wow! The Scripture passage was Psalm 127:3
3 Sons are a heritage from the LORD,
children a reward from him
After I prayed in my heart and asked forgiveness then and there, I assured my precious children that they were a gift.
There's nothing like God using my children's devotion book to remind me of such an important truth!

Isn't it amazing how the Lord brings things to us when we need them most!!! And it is always comforting to me to know that I am not the only mama with days like yours!!! LOL
