Sep. 2, 2007 SURVIVED THE FIRST WEEK OF SCHOOL!!
| Boy has this been a whirlwind of a week! I can't believe how much I was able to pack into our week. And let me just tell you that it is by the grace of God that inspite of the many things that had to be done, the week went well. God has provided me with a way to help my family financially admist all of my other duties and we are all extremely thankful for that. I am very pleased with how well our first week of school went. All of my children worked very hard and did an excellent job. It is very motivating and exciting to see my young scholars ready and willing to learn. I have had very little complaints and they have finished all of thier assignments. I pray that we continue this way. Its nice to be able to give my children the ability to work at thier own pace. It provides for very confident and accomplished little ones. In the past Mathew has been my main struggle when it came to school and This week he has been carefully finishing assignments and running the completed work to me so that I can put his smiley face on our school chart. I just feel so immensly blessed and thankful for my little family. |

Aug. 23, 2007 Jeans into skirts
Here is a fun way to make jeans into skirts. Its a great way to still be able to use those jeans that fit in the waist but are starting to get to short. This is my first completed one I still have 2 in progress. Granted its a little rough looking but I now know where my improvements need to be. I think its a really great idea. here are the links if you want to try it your self. This is a really simple and quick sewing project..give it a try!

Aug. 21, 2007 Preparing for the year.
I spent much of the day preparing our school area and lesson plans for the start of school next week. I for the first time feel prepared and ready instead of scared and doubtful. I think this is going to be a very good year for my family and our education. And I say our because it seems I learn just as much as they do. I love my homeschool room formerly known as the dining room the room itsself motivates all of us to do school activites.. Its not a spectacular room but we are proud of it. I must say that not much actual school work is done in there. Its more of a home base..and art area.. We seem to school wherever we feel comfortable on a particular day.
Hope all of you are off to a great school year wether it be home, publc, or private school.

Summer is such an active time for our family. This is the time of the year that we really PLAY as a family! But its all slowly coming to an end. Summer has just a few short weeks left and we are now preparing to "officially" start our school year. I am actually really excited to really get into the grind of our new curriculum..Mathew and Sierra both seem to be ready for the school year to start also.. And now we are adding Jessica to our homeschool as well. Last Year I sort of started Sierra on Kindergarten but this year we are buckling down and Mathew is about half a year behind in 1st grade (but I am not worried we will get there at his pace) and My Jessica the messica is more than ready for pre-school she loves to sit and listen and join in on our activities.. So this year I offically have a pre-schooler, a Kindergartner, and a First Grader who may jump up to 2nd. Also this year Nik is becoming a more active role in our homeschool and I feel so blessed to have him by my side encouraging and backing me up along this journey. So please keep us in our prayers as we begin This new year..
As most of you know..Nik may possibly be getting out of the Army over the next year or so..The Army and more specifically this last deployment to Iraq has been rough on my soldiers body and he is trying to get out medically..We are really excited about the idea of getting out and settling down. Please also remember our future plan in your prayers, as much as we would like to get out and start our new life we want to make sure its what God has in store for us..We need help just waiting on his answer for this.
I want to thank all of you for your prayers this year as we went through our short time of trial.. I want you all to know that Indivdually Nik and I are both stronger in our faith, as a couple we are stronger in God and our marriage, and as a family we are growing together in faith.
We love all of you!
