Jan. 15, 2009 - School in full swing
Well, school is back in full swing. It took a couple of weeks to get a grip. Coop is good this session.
My DS has Children's Choir which he has started singing with us and not behind us. And he is doing some of the physical motions on his own. I think sometimes the motions get to fast for him to process, but he is really enjoying it.
Second hour we are in a class called "On a Roll". My friend that is teaching it was sad because there are only 3 other students, but every week she brings in a person with a handicap and they talk to the class about what is like to live with cp or blindness. It is a really good class. And she is affecting the lives of 3 children who will inturn be a witness for their friends. I hope she knows what a blessing she is.
3rd and 4th hour I have hired a teenager to work one on one with my son. I believe that 2 more classes would have just been to hard on him. And they are working on chaining communication.
Chaining communication - is where you take were you are at in communication and try to add one more level, no matter how small. It could be a physical movement or a verbal movement, just something to engage the child one more second.
