Our Family to Yours

Amazing
This week our bible memory verse is "So in everything, do to others as you would have them do to you.."  Matthew 7:12.   This has helped my kids with arguing.  I really use the bible verses that we learn when they are doing things they shouldn't and most of the time it works very well.  On Tuesday we had just finished reading our bible story and saying our prayers, and I got up to get started on the rest of our school day when my three year old said"Mama how do you get to heaven?".  I was so happy and shocked at the same time that my three year old daughter would ask a question like that.  I just silently said a quick prayer that went something like "God please help me to say the right thing to her right now."  Then I explained it to her in a way I hope she understood.  Sometimes my kids amaze me.

Museum Trip
We have been so busy with the holidays and everything, just like everyone else. I am glad to be back to our normal school scedule this week. Last Saturday we took the kids to a neat Childrens' Museum and they loved it.  My three year old daughter asks me almost everyday when I will take her to the museum again.

Were Back

We have been so busy with moving and getting settled in that I have not had time to post anything.  We are settling in to the new house and trying to meet some people.  However, living in the country it is a little harder to do.  We went to the local Christmas parade and visited  a church this past weekend.

Some things we have been doing: we went to see a Snow White play.  It was great my kids keep asking to go to another play.  We had a good Thanksgiving with all our family but missed our friends terribly.  We also have two new puppies.  They are so cute.  Ethan's is Shadow and Hailey's is Taffy.  They will need to go to the vet for a checkup in a couple weeks so I decided we would do a lapbook on pet care.  My kids are really into the puppies and so they are very excited about the lapbooks we are working on.  I will try to post some pictures when we get done.

Here are just a few pics of the kids and their new pets.

This Week

This week has been busy as usual.  Ethan did alot of work in his Abeka math and Alpha phonics.  I love the Alpha phonics- something that is actually working with my son.  We continued our tadpole studies.  We have one that has all four legs and the tale is almost gone.  We are going to let it go tommorrow.  Hailey learned the letter D and the number 4 this week.  We also had a birthday party, baseball, and we went to see a Max and Ruby play(we loved it).  My kids can't wait to see another play.  I am hoping to take them to another play before Christmas.  We have been memorizing a bible verse each week(the kids and me LOL).  I get them from our Little Hearts for His Glory that I love.  I decided to start posting our weekly versus.  This past weeks verse was "My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth"  Psalm 121:2

My Girls
It seems that lately my son is the busy one.  I was felling like I haven't said so much about the girls recently so I just wanted to post a couple pictures of my girls.  I love this picture of my little Hailey.  Ashley will probably not like the picture I am posting of her but I like it.

My Little Superhero

My son wanted a Spiderman costume for his birthday.  So that is what we got him.  He has loved Spiderman for several years now.  He wears the suit everywhere, to Wal-mart, to the park, etc.  I make him wear regular clothes for church but other than that I let him wear it if he chooses.  We played a game the other day and I asked him to tell me four things he might want to be when he grows up.  He said a Superhero and Secret Agent.  So I asked him for two more and he did not want to but finally said firefighter and doctor.  However he said I just said those two but I am not going to be that, I only want to be a Superhero or Secret Agent.

Ethan's Birthday
Well my sons birthday was last week and I am finally getting around to posting it.  He had a good time.  He wants to make sure that I know how big is now.LOL  I do often wonder where the time has gone.  Anyway he got to enjoy time with his friends and family(we did miss the ones who couldn't be there).

Ethan's first baseball practice
Ethan has been asking to play baseball since last spring so we have signed him up for fall.  He had his first practice last week.  He was a little nervous but he did great.  They use the pitching machine in the league he is in(Rookies).  It throws the ball 43 miles per hour which is new to him.  He is used to his dad or me(ha ha) throwing the ball to him.  He is excited.  Here is a picture of him.  Isn't he so cute?

Plants
This past week we learned about plants.  We read books, watched videos, and crafts.  Our favorite was our bean seed experiment.  My kids could do this kind of thing all day everyday.  We planted several bean seeds and put them all in different places.  We are making sure that some have sun, water and air.  Each of the others we have taken away one thing plants need to grow.  We are going to see the differences.    We are also keeping a log.of what we see.  We have one plant in the fridge, the life of a homeschool family.  We also have a banana plant that we planted a few weeks ago.

Learning Letters

This is my little Hailey showing off the first part of her letter A craft.  She often likes to color an entire picture the same color no matter what it is We have been doing a letter a week program with her and she loves it.  She says "I get to do school like Bubba"(that is her brother Ethan).

Oh My!!!

My sons newest interest is skateboarding.  It makes me a little nervous but he really seems interested in it.  He is the type that if he is not interested in something it is very hard work to get him to do it.  On the other hand if it is an interest of his he will work at it until he has it perfect.  So we made some rules and let him work at it.

Hello
I have decided to switch my blog to this awesome one.  I have seen several other blogs from a friend who has a blog here as well.  I have not had much time to work on this in months but I am motivated to get back to adding to it regularly.

I am a Christain, homescholing mom. I have three children Ashley, Ethan and Hailey. I have been married to my husband, David, for nine years. My prayer each day is to enjoy another day with my family. They are my precious gift.
