Here is TheBean's first writing assignment for the Ancients. It was a poem practicing using adjectives. The Bean is an Upper Grammar level student. They enjoyed playing with words when creating their poems and thinking of lots of describing words :-) The other boys did the poem as well but were not as eager to have Mommy post it online :-)
The Ancient World
Mesopotamia, with two long, meandering rivers
And enormous, steppy ziggurats
Egypt, with powerful, heartless pharaohs
And humongous, triangular pyramids
Israel, with God's perfect, eternal law
And the enormous, ancient temple
Babylon, with the towering, decorative Ishtar Gate
And the colorful, high Hanging Gardens
Rome, with wealthy, wise (?) emperoros
And great, mighty armies
