First of all, thanks for the comments. All of you have opened my eyes and gave me another perspective of that topic, which is something that is really important in life. This blog will be about The Chronicals of Narnia (Author: C.S Lewis) and The Giver (Lois Lowry) and Harry Potter (J.K Rowling). The Giver is story that takes place in a made-up utopia. It's about a 12-year-old little boy named Jonas who is having to become more responsible, and has to experience the pain of memories from other people. I believe this book is as well very symbolic in Jesus' love for us, but some people may have different opinions, so please comment here and tell me what you think about this story. The last book(s) I want to mention are the Harry Potter books. These stories are not symbolic, they involve magic and witchcraft, which is why I strongly am not interested in read or watching these stories. These books/movies can bring the wrong impression to young ones. So many people say "well it's okay to watch because I'm not actually doing the things that they're doing". The Bible says that whatever you take in, whatever movie/book/song that you listen to/read/watch, it sinks into your spirit. Out of those roots grow fruit, and that fruit will be shown to other people. It sinks into your spirit, and the Bible says all that you do must be of God, must be pure and holy, not witch-crafty. Anyways, what are your opinions on this popular Harry Potter? God Bless everyone! Please don't forget to check out my other blog www.homeschoolblogger.com/godswings2fly. **EDIT**

What do you think about the Disney Channel? Do you think it's making little kids and preteens wish they were someone else, pretend to be that person... do you think it has a strong negative effect to kids these days? I do think so... only because I've seen it. I've seen so many people, even teenagers, who watch Disney Channel who start to change, try to be and make their life like a certain person, for example, Miley Cyrus. Is she a good role model, do you think? So many kids are looking to her, seeing her go out with a 21 year old guy, writing a song called "7 Things I hate About You"... and announcing that she's a Christian, then writing that song and posing in awful pictures. Kids will get the idea that you can do all o that stuff as long as your a Christian. That is way off. Kids are looking up to these people! Do you think it has such a strong negative effect today? Or do you think these Disney Channel stars are good role models? What about the shows they put on Disney Channel? God bless! |

Hey everyone. After viewing various amounts of blogs I've decided to create another one on a debateable topic that is strongly effected in today's society... especially teens. What's your opinion? I am open to anything. No, I do not like rap. That's way to unGodly and the more you listen to it, it does do something powerful to the way you view life and the way you possibly see God. I hate rap. Only if it's something like Christian rap. I try to listen to a lot more Christian music than I do normal music, because yes, Christian music, I believe, is extremely powerful. It can effect the your outlook on life, your attitude, your spirit, what comes out of your mouth, the way you live.... overall music is powerful. But to me that doesn't mean ignore all music unless it is Christian. I do not believe in that. One reason is because I mean, saying that you dont' want to listen to music unless it is Christian is pretty much saying that everything you watch, everything you say, everything you do must have the word God in it. The exact word. There are artists out there who are Christians but all of their songs don't have to do with praising God, worshiping him. Why? Well because, that's how artists express themselves - through music. It's their outlet. If they just got out of a painful relationship, they will write a song about that and that song could reach out to others who are in the same position. For example, the song "Don't Forget" by Demi Lovato (yes, a teenage song.... I'm a teengaer, and I love her music because she's really gifted and a true artist...), that song Demi is clearly writing that song because she obviously feels that her ex boyfriend that she was so-called- in loved with doesn't remember her, it shows that most guys don't care about relationships. Another thing is that just becauase a song is non-Christian doesn't mean it's an awful song? I could probably write a novel on how I don't like the idea of only listening to Christian music. Another reason is because, even the Bible says that we have to be open to the real world, not just cave ourselves in. There's many things that I could go off with that... but you're probably getting bored right now and well I'm getting real tired and watching Bridge to Terabithia. Oh and about the movies, lol... movies is amazing. I love the arts... music, movies, books... it's a way to just express yourself through emotions... that's why I love writing and acting. Like, for example, this movie that I am watching right now - Bridge to Terabithia - has a really powerful message and could relate to many kids in the same position. Anyways. Post a comment, tell me what you think. God bless you =) |
