Jan. 14, 2008 - Wintery wonderland
*edited to add 3 more photos at the bottom of this post*
We've gotten quite a bit of snow this past week, and it is pretty cold. Last night it was -18* here at our house. The wind hasn't blown since the snow fell, so the trees are covered in a gorgeous layer of powder on each branch. The snow is really fluffy and when you stomp your foot it goes "poof!" and blows away all around your boot. The children have been enjoying playing in it, that is- until yesterday when the temperature dropped so low.
A few days ago the children and I went on a nice walk around our neighborhood. Here are some pictures from our little excursion.

Oliver watching snow fall from our roof.
Every branch is decorated!!

What a grin on that boy, huh?

All four of the children in the woods. It was so beautiful out!!
Evelyn saying "hello" to her Auntie's horse.
Sully- looking small compared to this pine tree.
We warned Oliver not to pull on that branch, but he did it anyway! SNOW DOWN THE BACK!
Back home, warming up with some hot cocoa. Mmmmmm.

These are such beautiful pictures. Oh but so cold. Brrrrrrr! Looks like yall know how to warm up though...hot chocolate. Yummy. I can't say I miss it (the snow) but I know the children do. Every year they ask why we moved away to a place where if it snows it melts as fast as it hits the ground.
Thanks for sharing such pretty pics.
