"The days are long, but the years are fleeting."

Jul. 13, 2008 - Summer Busy-ness!

We just returned from 5 days of camping and traveling around our wonderful state of Alaska.  We had a great time, even though it rained a lot and we hardly saw the sun at all.  The tent held up and we all stayed healthy, so I consider the trip a success!

Right now we're headed out the door to church, but I will post pictures soon.  I also have a few from the 4th of July that I'd like to post before it's August... oh well.  :)  And also some of Sullivan's birthday (yesterday).  But we've been so busy I haven't had time to be on the computer!

Hope you're having a wonderful summer!  We're making the most of every single day, though most of them have been rainy.

God is good!
~Leah

Hi Leah,
I found you on Pioneer Woman and wanted to say hi. I also homeschool and have never been to Alaska. Maybe one day I will travel when the kids are grown. If you get a chance, come by my blog at bayouwoman.wordpress.com

Goodness...but your Evy sure does make Carhardts look CUTE! :) (Pictures below, with her in the little pink hat.)

Leah, I sent you a note, but it must have come back to me. I sent it well over a week ago.

I got the package...you are such a honey. Yes, I INHALED the chocolate...didn't want to share but how could I not share chocolate from ALASKA? We're homeschoolers for Heaven's sake! We want to experience the culture of Alaska, you know!

The shirt is now my fave to wear with my ol' faded jeans. :) And I LOVE the salad picker-uppers. :)

Leah, you were TOO sweet.

The shirt is beautiful. BUT. I am going to sit and think and pray about it before I take it apart, okay? I know you warned me it is silky...but I want to be sure that I can make a nice bear that will hold together for you. I might try to find one of the same type of material at the thrift store first and sew some with that before doing anything else. Anyway...I won't do anything rash, okay? :)

IF I decide that I just can't do it, I'll return it with some GEN-U-INE Indiana chocolate just for you. :)

Hey. How come your baby tummy isn't showing anywhere? I keep lookin'!

P.S. Your mama and daddy sure are a handsome couple!

Love,
Holly
