Apr. 27, 2009 - Quality Road
Heyyy guys, I just heard that Quality Road isn't running the Derby anymore. His latest quarter crack in his left fore (I think it was left fore... I know his latest crack is in the front anyways) has caused him to favor the leg a lot and he was off training for a few days. Just thought you might want to know that. I'll update as soon as I find out who will be running in Quality Road's place.

This is so easy - I've never been more sure of anything - I like Baffert and Pioneer of the Nile and Garrett Gomez - i'll pick them 2nd or third. I like Prado/Pletcher/Dunkirk combo too - they'll be 2nd or 3rd. The winner though - has to be Kent Desormeaux riding Hold Me Back - trained by Bill Mott (the winningest trainer in Churchill Downs HISTORY). Who could bet against that? Did I mention that I've been wrong before?
Also, strange that Desormeaux isn't riding Flying Private due to the Fusaichi Pegasus connection. Kent was on Fusaichi when he won the roses!
Countdown is on - can't wait!

First Saturday in May - who cares? I'm not bitter or anything - but who cares? A "derby" is just a hat! So they aint allowing drugged horses in the derby - and coincidentally, I don't have a horse in the race - so what - who cares? Just another Saturday - I'll probably just stay home and wash my hair. A derby without drugged horses is like a derby without...er...umm...me!

Baffert called and said to meet him at the racetrack for lunch - I've got the week off, so I took my car and went to his "track" in Louisville. First, I couldn't even find pit lane - that darn rail has NO openings - then the place isn't even paved yet (I hope they get around to fixing that real soon). My car got stuck in the dirt before I made it to the first turn - double drat! Then someone let some cows or horses or something out on the track and they actually passed me - yuck. I never did see Baffert. Someone told me he was "instable" or something - I couldn't hear clearly with the helmet on and all - but if it's true what they say - I'll be better off without him anyway - see you in Indy fourth SUNDAY in May!!

Sorry Danica, but for a dark headed girl - you are the dizziest blonde I've ever met! Churchill Downs is a HORSE race track, not a CAR track - you still owe them for all of the damage you did! I'm not "instable" I was IN THE STABLES! They weren't cows, they were champion RACE HORSES. How about you just stick to your sport and I'll stick to mine! Good luck and good bye!
