A Young Maiden's Daybook #8

Posted in Daybook
HsKubes' Gal, has (with Miss Peggy's permission) adapted The Simple Woman's Daybook  to A Young Maiden's Daybook for us young ladies who are not quite women yet.  You can read her orginal post regarding it here

Today… March 23, 2009

Outside my window… It's raining.

I am thinking… That our vacation was great!  You can read about it at http://www.homeschoolblogger.com/servingtheKingofkings/670420/ .

I am thankful for… being done with formal schooling for tenth grade.  It is interesting/funny that I'm just as busy (or more so) now than I was before!  For instance, last Wednesday (a week after having finished), I did Bible, story boarding, listened to most of an audio CD (of the 2009 San Antonio Independent Christian Film Academy), read part of Christianity in Crisis by Hank Hanegraff, practiced piano, edited part of my book, watched a World History DVD, and learned Thai.  And that's not all :)!

I am wearing… A light blue shirt with a dark red jacket and black skirt.

I am reading… The Bible (Psalms right now) and Christianity in Crisis by Hank Hanegraff.

I am creating… Food :) in addition to the usual.

One of my favorite things... Efficiency

For education this week… Reading, writing, cooking, baking, story boarding, Thai, listening to audio CD's, piano, and more.

A keeper at home skill I am using/learning … A lot of cooking and baking.

A spiritual lesson I’m learning… Endurance

A godly character trait I plan to work on… Gentleness

Scripture I am memorizing… Galatians 2

I am praying for…  Various people and people groups/countries

For the rest of the week… What is listed under "for education for this week" :).

A picture I’d like to share... One of the pictures my mom took at Smith Rock State Park

Wow, your vacation must have been so fun. The photos that I did see were wonderful, made me wish I was there. I saw a photo of the Deschutes river that made me desire to go there. A young man, Ben, at work had it. He had taken it with his camera on his phone. What a picture for a little camera. Will send it to my email and then send on to you or put in blog.

About Me

Hi, my name is Alyssa and I am a 16 year old homeschooling girl who is saved by God's grace and wants to live a life that is pleasing to Him. I strongly desire, if it is God's will, to be a freelance writer, author, and film-maker for the glory of God and the furtherance of His kingdom. Some of my other interests include: missions (I am passionate about reaching the unreached with the Gospel), entrepreneurship, reading, drawing, music (listening to music and playing the piano), watching movies, and homemaking.
