"She looketh well to the ways of her housedhold, and eateth not the bread of idleness. Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her." Proverbs 31:27-28 "To be descreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed." Titus 2:5 Not a whole lot going on today. It's snowing again. I'm hoping it will snow enough so that the kids can play outside. I'm also hoping that the co-op classes will be cancelled. I really don't want to have to get out on the roads. Devon is on a completely different nap schedule now. He has an ear infection and is on meds. Instead of getting up at 9 and going to sleep at 12, he's getting up at 8 and ready for a nap at 10, then again at 3, and bedtime at 7. I don't know how much longer this will last. I'm not sure if I like it. On my agenda today is school and cleaning. Surprise, surprise. I am starting the boys on subtraction today. I look forward to that. I think dinner tonight will be Vegetable Beef soup. I'm off to get my day started. I know, late start huh. |

Proverbs 31:27-28 "To be descreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed." Titus 2:5 This day has gone by so slowly. Today is a Snow Day. Yay for snow days. I like to take these days to catch up on housework and work on my menu's and grocery list. I DESPARATELY need to tackle the closet in my brothers room and do something with all of the clothes I sorted through. He's probably feeling a little claustrophobic. My room could use some attention too. It had stayed uncluttered for 2 weeks and yesterday it bacame the catch-all room while I was cleaning the rest of the house. I may work on that in a little while, while watching Saving Sarah Cain. Great movie. Love Beverly Lewis's books. I am part of a Homestead online "family" and we are encouraging each other to simplify our lives. That is something I definitely need to work on. I just need to get rid of junk. A couple of weeks ago I went through my clothes and the childrens clothes and I have to say, I am not tackling as much laundry. We recieved our info packet about foster parenting today. I'm really excited!! Although some people think we are crazy. I say we are just following Gods plan. The recruiter should be calling within the next couple of days to set up an interview. Well, I'm off to get my work finished. Have a wonderful day. Melissa D. |

"She looketh well to the ways of her housedhold, and eateth not the bread of idleness. Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her." Proverbs 31:27-28 "To be descreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed." Titus 2:5 Today is a new day and a new blog. I've been wanting to start a blog for a long time, just haven't had the time to create one. We didn't go to church today because the children have ringworm. UGH!! They are on medication for a month, but are only contagious for about two weeks after the start of medication. We took in a stray kitten on December 26, 2007 that apparently has ringworms. So we are staying home for the next 2 weeks, no co-op, no walmart, no going anywhere. I love reading blogs, don't get to often, but I do love them. Especially blogs of my Homestead family. I have been spending my time reading Sandlappersue's blog this morning. If you haven't read her blog, do so. She is such an inspirational lady. Hi Susan!! Since we didn't go to church services today I'm tempted to get up and clean. I am going to honor the Lord's day by just keeping things picked up. After lunch I think I will read from the Little House books. I didn't think the children would be interested but they are. Yay!! I borrowed the whole set from my grandma. I have been reading this same set since I was 11 or 12, I'm 29 now. They are well read. On a more personal note. I found myself weeping in the shower earlier. Long story short, I had my tubes tied after the birth of my fourth child 10 months ago. I was not a Christian at that time, and didn't think that we could support more than four children. I soon regreted getting my tubes tied and have contemplated getting them untied. At this time we can't afford it and not sure if we will ever be able to. It would certainly take a long time to save up for it. But now that I have been a Christian since Sept., I have learned to leave my life in God's caring hands. So this morning I was praying and weeping in the shower asking God to forgive me for turning my back on his gifts and asking him to restore my body so that I may concieve again. So please pray for me. Okay, that's a good start I think. I look forward to the next entry.

And then I need to wash last nights dishes, clean my room, finish laundry, clean kids' room, and finally tackle my brothers room. I didn't get to clean my room while watching Saving Sarah Cain last night. I couldn't find the dvd. Maybe today.
