Oct. 5, 2006 - LA
All the sudden, this week, we have not been able to keep up with LA. It would take an hour or more to do everything written in the IG. So, after calling another homeschooling friend just to say it out loud, I decided we have to slow down the LA and maybe do Adv K over 2 years. Caleb does very well with the workbook, and has even gotten all the spelling words. He can do each component very well, but the combination of everything was just taking too long each day and making it hard for him to concentrate.
So I went back through the binder and removed all the LA pages and put them in on their own. Now I have a sticky post it as a bookmark for both AW and the LA.
Today we just went back over the reading lists and some of the spelling words. He was very good at using the magnetic letters to spell words, then started making his own words. He was sad there was only one 'o' so he couldn't spell zoo.
Now I just have to make sure I don't look at the week number on the IG :)

I'm having the opposite problem. We're doing fine with the LA, but getting behind on history. Ugh. Dont' know what we'll end up doing. Probably we'll double up next week and only do the bare min. (which means no fun stuff).
