• 10.15.2007 - Roots and Wings Co-Op

Posted in Roots and Wings

Today was my turn to teach.  The children learned about foods that are good for your body and you should eat for the majority of your diet  (green light)  and foods you should have in moderation (red light). I talked to the children about different foods and then we played red light, green light.

The children then circled foods in the ad with a red or green crayon depending on if it was a red or green light food.

I guess coffee is a 'green light' food - that is good news for Pacific Northwesters!

I served a very green light snack!

Leigh also read to some of the children while some were doing their circling...

The kids had a great time.

You are teaching those children WELL if they circled coffee in green! LOL!!!! :) LOVE that. :) I'll have to tell DH about that. I did notice the familiar looking coffee cup on your counter as you were preparing the snack. The little coffee shop we go to uses those same cups. Does yours give out chocolate covered coffee beans, another green light food, too? ;) These were cute (I saw some of these on Leigh's blog too! :).
Love, Alyssa

Edited to say, I had DH read that part just now & we were both giggling about that. :)

Oh, and yes, we have yet *another* new puppy. :) I wrote about her in the post before the one you saw. She's a Siberian Husky, all the way from Oklahoma!

I am taking a break from caffine right now while I am nursing, that was Kathy's coffee. :)

Chocolate covered coffee beans talk about a boost! :)
