• 10.1.2008 - Homemade Play Dough

We made homemade play dough yesterday, so easy and the dough is wonderful! Sorry no pictures!

Here is the recipe:

2 1/4 cup flour

1 cup salt

4 tsp. cream of tartar

2 cups water

10 drops food color (or 1 pkg. Kool-aid w/out sugar)

2 tbsp. oil

Measure everything and have ready. In a large saucepan, mix water and food coloring (or kool-aid). Stir well. Turn on medium heat, add oil, flour, salt, cream of tartar and oil. Mix with wooden spoon and cook until firm - it will form a ball. Knead with hands as soon as cool enough.

Store in an airtight container.

The recipe made enough for 3 children to work with. I want to make more but a cash and carry run needs to be made to get more salt!

This was taken from the cookbook, Love in the Kitchen.

Enjoy!
