• 8.21.2008 - Ultrasound and date change

Posted in Homelife

We got to go in for an ultrasound today. We saw our little peanut, with it's little beating heart. The ultrasound determined I wasn't as far a long as my calculations said I would be - I wasn't really having regular cycles...Anyway so my new date is March 29th and not the 23rd.

• 8.19.2008 - 1st Midwife appointment

Posted in Homelife

I had my first midwife appointment yesterday. It was very boring - first appointments usually are! She tried to listen to baby's hearbeat - she said she heard it briefly but I am still early on in the pregnancy. I told her I would like a first trimester ultrasound, so she was going to be ordering that for me. I am excited to schedule that!

I am very excited to go the natural route this time around! And to have the children be involved as much as they want ( and I can handle!)

• 8.10.2008 - My washer!

Posted in Homelife

Ugh!! The top of my washer shattered! All I did was gently set my laundry basket on top and I hear a big bang/pop sound - I lift up my basket and this is what I see!

I guess I won't be doing laundry for a little while! Hopefully we can get this fixed ASAP!

• 8.1.2008 - We attemped a Oregon Coast vacation!

Posted in Homelife

We rented a house on the Oregon Coast and came home 3 days later! Ugh! C2 got horribly sick - fever, vomitting, all he could do was lay around.

But the day before we did have some fun!

We went to Seaside and played in the sand and surf. Notice the sweatshirts! We are definately not in Hawaii! It was so cold! We are so spoiled by California and Hawaii beaches!

C4 even ate some sand - that made for an interesting diaper change!

She saw some kids getting burried in the sand so she got into position!

I think in the distance is the lighthouse I wanted to go see! Maybe next time!

We ate lunch and then headed back to the house in Manzanita, had a nap and then headed back down the beach.

This one is definately a beach girl!

He looks fine - what happened?

The happy couple - dh got a little sun!

C2 got a bad fever that night, next morning still had a fever got him some Motrin and then the vomitting started on the way to go visit the Tillamook factory. So we turned around and headed back for 'home' we rented a couple movies (it was a rainy day) and decided if things didn't go better we would go home the following day. Well we came home and things still aren't well for the little guy. If you could pray for C2 to feel better that would be wonderful.

I am so thankful we did a have a fun day. We are happy to be back home! There is no place like home!

• 7.25.2008 - Jam!

Posted in Homelife

Daddy and C1 went raspberry picking last weekend and came home with tons! I was excited to be able to make jam again. I made about 20 jars of raspberry jam! Woo hoo! I used a new pectin this time which allowed me to use way less sugar or sugar alternatives, I sweetned some with honey. I also made a raspberry buckle, and froze a bunch for future use.

• 7.23.2008 - Fourth of July

Posted in Homelife

My husband got to help set up the fireworks for a local fireworks show where we live. He had a great time with the 'guys' and he had fun and learned a lot.

Here is a shot of all the fireworks ready for the show.

The fam stayed home while he spent the morning and early afternoon helping with the set-up. We as a family went to the park for dinner and the show. We all had a great time.

• 6.11.2008 - Yay another Grandpa comes for a visit!

Posted in Homelife

My father in law came to visit this last weekend. We haven't seen him since December! We sure had a great time seeing him. I didn't get too many pictures.  Here is one taken right before he left. My sweetie is all sweaty because he was racing around hooking up our generators because our power went out! This has been such a year of grey, drab, rainy weather!
