FOR TODAY June 2, 2008 ...

Outside My Window...a sweet bunny has hopped onto our patio, causing our kitty to pace at the back door.

I am thinking...how wonderful it is that our homeschool is in summer mode.

I am thankful for...my 2nd daughter who woke up early and has already knocked off one thing from our summer to-do list.

From the kitchen...my oldest is starting breakfast for our family.

I am wearing...a floral skirt, beige blouse and sandals.

I am creating...a home notebook with all our plans (dreams) for each room of our home all in one place!

I am going...to a Dr.'s appt this afternoon that I'm a litte worried about.

I am reading...Little House in the Big Woods aloud now for my younger set of girls.

I am hoping...(PRAYING) for a good report at the Dr. today.

I am hearing....my kitty beg to be let out to 'play' with the bunny on our patio.

Around the house...my children are working together on different projects

One of my favorite things...the smell of my gardenia bushes in full bloom!

A Few Plans For The Rest Of The Week...spring cleaning, swimming, summer school (Nature studies & cursive writing)

Here is picture thought I am sharing...

I am thankful for...the chance to remember today with my family those who 'gave all'

From the kitchen...is the smell of leftover Carolina BBQ!

I am wearing...a floral skirt, sage-colored blouse & my favorite pair of rainbows!

I am creating...a calendar for the many things we want to do during our summer break!

I am going...to soak my tired feet in a warm bubble bath!

I am reading...other 'simple women's' blogs!

I am hoping...(PRAYING) that my sweet son does not have what sounds suspiciously like CROUP!

I am hearing...children fight over the last hush-puppy!

Around the house...are messes we left from our quick departure this morning for an all-day Memorial Day Picnic!

One of my favorite things...watching my children's faces today as they listened to the stories of three veterans from the Battle of Iwo Jima!

• May. 20, 2008 - A Wonderful Time of Fellowship

We had a reunion of sorts last night with two families from our first Financial Peace class.  Our friends the Hansards were the first to reach their goal of being debt free except the house - so we gathered together to celebrate!  It was a wonderful time of fellowshipping and lively discussions for us adults, and plenty of 'socialization' for the 13 children that were here.  Towards the end we gathered to pray and thank the Lord for His leading us to be debt free and His provision over the past year.  We also shared how we had recently sold our car and were able to cut some more chains from our 'debt-monster' poster.  The kids were excited as they took turns cutting chains.  You can read more about our little debt poster and our goals on my husband's blog (see sidebar).  We are on schedule to celebrate again in the fall when we hope to make our final 'debt snowball' payment.  The third family in our group is also on schedule to do the same by the end of the year.  What a blessing!  We are changing our family legacy by learning to live debt free and teaching our children early how to live by these same principles.  Praise be to GOD!
