Becoming a Heaven on Earth

Home can be a heav'n on earth when we are filled with love

Bringing happiness and joy, rich blessings from above-

Warmth and kindness, charity, safety and security-

Making home a part of heaven, where we want to be.

Drawing fam'ly near each week, we'll keep love burning bright.

Serving Him with cheerful hearts, we'll grow in truth and light.

Parents teach and lead the way, children honor and obey,

Reaching for our home in heaven, where we want to stay.

Praying daily in our home, we'll feel His love divine;

Searching scriptures faithfully, we'll nourish heart and mind.

Singing hymns of thanks, we'll say, "Father, help us find the way

Leading to our home in heaven, where we long to stay."

~ LDS Hymn #298

To Your Health

Thanks everyone for your comments!

Shiloah, yes, I have read some books this year.  The last two months I have been slowly getting through Called to Brilliance and Man of the Family.  I should have been done with them a long time ago, but I only have so many hours in a day - both are borrowed books so it's driving me crazy that I haven't finished them yet!  That's so great you're all scripting!  I'm the only one so far in our family - Redbeard supports me, but doesn't do it himself and my children aren't sure what to make of all of it yet.  LOL!

"So do you then use the outline to find resources/activities for each area?"  Yes - I will be adding activites as well as field trips, videos, etc - anything to inspire a love of learning about the subject - the idea is to expose and let the kids dig deeper in the areas that hit them.

In fact, I'll tell you a secret.  I don't sew much anymore - I am considering doing one costume for each person, but I don't know if I'll get to it!  I really think my girls will get into the whole "everyday life" for each time period - and I'm really looking forward to doing "fashion" with them, because I want to make paper dolls and make costumes for those!  I think it will be a blast!  :)  They'll have to take care to be true to the time period...  there are tons of resources on the net.

Did I answer everyone's questions?  Oh - Kassie, if you have a website, I'd love to see it.  I love mtg others who are on the same path as I am - it's nice to know there are others embarking on the same journey.  Thanks for your comment!

For anyone interested in chakras or bio-kenetic testing, I have written two extensive blog posts on my other blogs on these topics.  I have a chakra list which does include an LDS scripture, but other than that I think it can be used by any faith - it's located at:

http://texasblu.blogspot.com/2008/07/lds-chakra-sheet.html

and  a post that teaches how to bio-kenetic test yourself is at:

 http://texasblu3.blogspot.com/2008/07/testing-yourself-informative-beginner.html

complete with pictures illustrating instructions.  I hope it is useful.

I will be continuing to post information on the chakras during the week, because my mother is needing the information and my sister-in-law is interested, so I figured someone else might be too.  :)  I'm sorry about the long links, but I have been having trouble with Homeschoolblogger and my links working, so I figured this way if the link doesn't work for you, you can copy and paste it into your browser.  There's more than one way to blog!  ;)

I have been reading your blog for a while now, as I also find it helpful to 'see' how others implement TJEd into their lives. I've been very interested in your oldest daughter's experience with the Commonwealth School. Sounds like a great thing. I wish there were one here that I knew of for my kids.
I do have a blog, I post there occasionally, and you are more than welcome to visit.

Is this EPIC adventure you're doing going to take you a full year/school year? I just spent yesterday trying to plug it all into my calendar so I can see how much time I have for each area of study. It's going to fit, but it will be tight.
