because I have you

My youngest son (3) and I were making chocolate chip cookies together the other day.  I said to him, "Just think, if you help me all these years to make cookies, you will be able to make cookies for your wife and kids when you grow up."  He said, "I'm not gonna have a wife."  I asked, "Why not?"  He said with all sincerity, "Because I have you."

Oh, how sweet!  I grabbed him and smothered him with kisses while he giggled.

I'll have to remind him of his comment in about 20 years.

Heavenly Goose Bumps!!

This was a wonderful day of learning. We’ve been discussing how much God cares for us.  We have taken time to learn about the providence of God and His amazing care of animals.  Today, we talked about how much more He cares for us.  The boys went on and on about the earthly ways that God cares for us, yet they had not taken their reasoning to the eternal.  So I posed the question, ‘In what way has God shown His care for us, eternally?’  I heard them say that believing in God helps us go to heaven and so forth, yet not once had anyone mentioned that the Father cared so much to send Jesus and Jesus cared so much that He would come to die for our sins.  So I kept asking questions.  Eventually Preston said that Jesus dying on the cross for us showed that He cares for us!  Aah ha!  BINGO!  This brought about lots of discussion and a moment that I hope I never forget!  After we talked about what God the Father was doing to show His care and then all that Jesus endured and went through because He cared…Preston said, ‘Boy, I have goose bumps.’  It was amazing to witness God working in His little heart so much that he got goose bumps, when he realized what it was that God did for him!  I love those goose bump moments in my own life!  I was overjoyed when God gave Preston a goose bump moment too!  Hurray for heavenly, goose bumps!

About Me

The Lord has blessed my life with 'little treasures' that I can cast my eyes upon each day. Along with this He, through His Spirit, provides 'little treasures' of wisdom and understanding all the way down to conviction and hard times. What a blessing for all of God's 'little treasures'. ~Isaiah 2:7~
