A few more reader questions regarding mail & internet access

Amy, from the Neighborhood Clubhouse, recently posed a few questions that her family had regarding our lifestyle that I decided to feature this week in the Reader’s Questions.

How do you get mail?

This is actually something that my husband and I have tried to work out but haven’t really come up with the ideal solution yet.  Although there are mail forwarding services that we could’ve taken advantage of, we opted to forward our mail to my parent’s to send to us if we need it.  We never know where we’ll be, but my parent’s always know where we are.  Also, many companies now allow online access to your accounts which actually cut down on mailings and give you instant access to your account. By enrolling in these programs, we’re able to manage our bills, insurance and banking information on the road as long as we have access to the internet.  Which leads to the next question…

What about internet access?

Once again, there are internet providers that cater to people that travel frequently and though we’ve looked into service through Verizon or Hughes Net, that would just be adding one more bill to our monthly expenses and we are trying really hard to become debt free.  Many campgrounds now offer access to wireless internet, either free or for a low cost.  Right now, we pay a low cost to gain access at our current location, and though we are charged, the fee is still less than what we’d pay to have it on our own.  We have stayed at campgrounds that don’t offer wireless so we’ve taken advantage of the free Wi-Fi hotspots that were located around town.  This seemed to work for us.  It may not be as convenient as having access right in our camper, but it was available. This free Wi-Fi directory lists Wi-Fi locations by state and from there, you can do a city search.

Are you curious about our lifestyle and have a question you’d like to ask?  No problem, just leave me a message or send me an email.
