Life In His Grace

Changes

I'm trying to make a transition in the way i eat and live these days, from the 'regular' diet to a 'raw' foods diet. 85% raw/15% cooked. Cutting meat out seems to be difficult, but i think i can slide by with fish every once in a great while. I love eggs, not sure what i'll do with that.
I have been doing a bit of research, reading, listening, and observing, and i do believe it's the best way to health, along with good old fashioned excercise. Yes, you hear correctly, excercise.
I think this is probably the greatest missing link to health i have these days, because i am kept so busy at work, doing house chores, and helping my daughter to stay focused on school work. In the spring, summer, and fall, i don't seem to do too bad, but when the day hours begin to shorten, i don't seem to be able to keep up any outdoor activity.
The thing i like to do the most is walk and run in short spurts. I do like bike riding too, and i go to the beach, but the beach is sort of a 'lazy' thing cuz all i like to do there is read and sit in my beach chair listening to and watching the ocean. It's very relaxing.
Right now i seem to have fallen prey to some virus, having a big cold! Yuk. Wanna know where i believe i picked it up? Sure, the doctors office no less. Going in for a physical - coming home sick! Something just doesn't seem right about that. I suppose it's my own fault, maybe i should have used my own pen, and just stood up while waiting. I don't know. Hopefully i won't be going back to the doctors office. I really haven't been to the doctors office in years, and i haven't been sick either. hahaha.
Well....

Here's to great health !!!!

Hey a great book to read on diet and nutrition is Nourishing Traditions. It's very biblical-through New Testament. I do lots of research on diet and Nutrition which started when I read a book called Unraveling the Mysteries of Autism. Then once my husband was diagnosed with cancer and I found out I was rittled with Candida (too much yeast in my blood due to eating too much sugar) I knew things had to change. I want to research all the biblical diets I could. Most stuck to Old Testament diets which I liked but I knew we were under the new testament of Jesus and I wanted to find a book that supported that. Plus the Old Testament books had what I like to call lots of blank spots in their research that did not add up with biblical terms. Nourishing Traditions covers all that. They have great factual and historical research (most research on today's American diets are corrupted by the fact that the researchers are paid by the food companies)

I give you an idea of what I mean. You said you are going to cut out meat, well did you know in some countries that is about all they have to live on-almost no vegetation. And yet they live much longer than Americans and are far healthier! Did you know that butter has loads of vitamins in it, and the fat of the butter helps your body digest that vitamin much more than taking a supplement? Did you know that if you ate correctly that the saturated fat in the butter would not stick to your arteries? And the biggest one is did you know vegetable oil, and margarine are made from rancid oils and the process they go through to make them eatable will make you not want to ever eat them again?

It's a must read! Oh and it has 700 recipes to boot!
