I'm trying to make a transition in the way i eat and live these days, from the 'regular' diet to a 'raw' foods diet. 85% raw/15% cooked. Cutting meat out seems to be difficult, but i think i can slide by with fish every once in a great while. I love eggs, not sure what i'll do with that.
I have been doing a bit of research, reading, listening, and observing, and i do believe it's the best way to health, along with good old fashioned excercise. Yes, you hear correctly, excercise.
I think this is probably the greatest missing link to health i have these days, because i am kept so busy at work, doing house chores, and helping my daughter to stay focused on school work. In the spring, summer, and fall, i don't seem to do too bad, but when the day hours begin to shorten, i don't seem to be able to keep up any outdoor activity.
The thing i like to do the most is walk and run in short spurts. I do like bike riding too, and i go to the beach, but the beach is sort of a 'lazy' thing cuz all i like to do there is read and sit in my beach chair listening to and watching the ocean. It's very relaxing.
Right now i seem to have fallen prey to some virus, having a big cold! Yuk. Wanna know where i believe i picked it up? Sure, the doctors office no less. Going in for a physical - coming home sick! Something just doesn't seem right about that. I suppose it's my own fault, maybe i should have used my own pen, and just stood up while waiting. I don't know. Hopefully i won't be going back to the doctors office. I really haven't been to the doctors office in years, and i haven't been sick either. hahaha.
Well....
Here's to great health !!!! |

Feb. 1, 2008 Hallelujah . . . Acres that is
I got the opportunity to go to a seminar this past week, that was so so amazing!! I learned so much about our bodies, how they process and respond to everything in our environment including ourselves.
It is amazing what kinds of things we put our own bodies through. The kinds of things we think nothing of, but we sure wouldn't do to our pets the same things. That's an interesting thought if you grasp the depth in it. How about a coffee and donut for fido in the morning. LOL.
I also learned that how lacking in disciplining my own self i am, even taking it to the Kingdom level. If i am not taking what i learn and bring it to fruition for my Lord's glory and my body, my respect level or reverence, even my AWE for Him is on the low level. wow!
Whatever you sow, this is what you will reap. I am on a journey to find inner strength, true character and integrity, and i owe it all to my Father. Some people cannot understand go on this journey, i believe it's a process and that it's also brought into the light by Father.
If you get the opportunity check out Hallelujah Acres. You might be amazed at what you learn.
more of this subject to come as i do my homework. |

Jan. 8, 2008 new year, new start?
I don't like to do new years resolutions, it seems like a set up for failure. Have you ever thought of it that way - ok, let's get ready, get set, go...... who can last the longest with their resolutions ? haha. Sadly, i will not win that race. On the brighter side, i do like the idea of a fresh start, sort of like getting a 'do-over' (for all of those out there that remember that phrase).
For my home and 'family' lifestyle fresh starts are alway revitalizing. My daughter seems to be doing pretty well this year. She has all her classes on a laptop, with a schedule entered to follow. She does very well with setting appointments for herself to follow. And having it all at her disposal anytime any where is good for her. That's one great thing, among many, about homeschooling. This year i heard her say she wants to go to college ! :)
Yes, it's a new year, we have a new start, but really it's merely a continuation of the challenge layed before us, to run the race, keep the faith, fight the good fight, and praise the Lord for His marvelous grace and mercy, patience and faithfulness, and the unconditional love that keeps us keeping on. We press on, persevering because He is, and i am so thankful that He is.
