New Post (Finally)

Howdy!

I am quite restricted to the times that I can post, so I am afraid there will be about a week in between each new update. But I suppose that's not too bad. It gives me time to think about just exactly what I want to talk about!

Firstly, I would like to share some pictures of my guinea-pigs for you all to see. (Atleast any of you that are interested anyway!) :-) The first one is a picture of my guinea-pig, Ruth, who is commonly called Rufus! That was actually my idea even though I am generally against calling a guinea-pig names other than there own name.

This picture is one of my sister's guinea-pig, Hope. (I'm sure you'll all be interested to know that I helped name this little girl.) :-)

I hope you all enjoy looking at these pictures!

Well, we finally started school again this week. We'd been on Christmas holidays for the past six weeks and it was about time to get into a routine again. I have always been one who very much liked routine. I have been known to go on and on about... SCHEDULES! I always feel the need to have a nice, orderly schedule to follow. (Even if, a lot of the time I don't necessarily follow it!)  Atleast I've got the right idea. :-) My schoolwork went surprisingly well this week, but that could be due to the fact that I didn't do any Algebra this week. I should be starting that this coming week. Currently I will be doing: Algebra, English, Government: Collectivism, Life of Christ, Christian Growth, and Home Economics. I really can't wait to start Home Economics, one of the reasons could be the fact that it is a Mennonite Curriculum and I've always had an interest in their ways. Each day I will also be practising, Piano, Violin and any vocal items I'm performing in Church. It keeps us pretty busy, but we enjoy it!

We have Church tomorrow, at which we are sinigng our vocal quartet, "In Christ Alone" with two other girls during the morning service.  On Sundays, I play violin at Church and Talitha (13) my sister, plays piano some weeks. The Church orchestra is composed of two organs, one piano, one flute, one clarinet, two-three violins, one cello, and one guitar. This Church has really been a blessing for us as it is the first Church we've found that allows the children in the Church to use their music, either instrumental or vocal, to worship the Lord as well as allowing the adults to do the same. We have been able to witness this way through Church events and it has helped us gain the confidence to go out and witness to others better. And it has also helped me to learn to play my violin better as it has forced me to get up there and play as best I can to serve in the Church. Our Church really has given us chances to serve. One evening, after the Evening Service, we had a Church supper that was meant to get all the kids serving the adults, but in the end only Talitha and I were there for it so it was just us two plus a couple of the adults serving the entire Church supper! Let me just say, that was a learning experience for us! :-) But in a way it was fun and was used to bring glory to God and taught us how to better serve in the Church.

Anyway, I suppose I'd better stop now and post this before I take up the rest of the page!

Your sister in Christ,

Rebekah-Grace

Jan. 27, 2009 - a note from miss anna in America in reply to your message...

What a blessing for you to play music at your church! I love music! I used to play violin, and have taken piano sporadically/briefly throughout the years, and regret that now I don't play any music. I've thought it'd be neat to play guitar..
If I could, my options of the music I'd strive to learn would be guitar and/or violin/fiddle.

"In Christ Alone" is a such a pretty song, btw. :)
Do you like singing? - since you like instruments? :)

Amazing that you live in Australia! Have you ever been to America? Are you a native Ausie?

Yes! - we do have some animals. Right now we have 4 parrots and a cat. :)

What denomination are you and your family?

Ttys!
Anna

Hello Rebekah!!!!!

My sister and I were looking at your pictures of the guinea pigs, and she wants Talitha to know that she already loves them.(yours, I mean. she of course already loves her own!) You know what this means? ....Now our guinea pigs need to have a play date!!! ;-) They are all girls, so there won't be any baby guinea pigs after the play date though...;-( *wink* How do you think we could get down to you guys? I don't know that the guinea pigs would enjoy an air plane...
Just kidding. They ARE very cute, thanks for the pictures!

I'm so sorry that I haven't emailed you back. I know my mom emailed you, so you understand, but I still feel bad. You have no idea how much I want to write you back! But for some reason, my mom likes to take our computer privledges away if Raechel and I don't get along swimingly. It's her favorite thing take away from us because then there's no one tying up the lines!!! ha-ha
But anyway, so we have the computer back now, and I'll try to as soon as possible.

All my love and prayers,

Your Friend In Christ,
Dallas

PS,
Raechel wants you and your sister to know that she put up a picture of one of her piggies, Maizy, on her blog and if you want to go see it, you can. ;-) (she's a little obsessed if you can't figure that out...;-) I love my sister!)

Hey, Rebekah! :)

Celtic fiddle...neat! It seems a lot of people like celtic music, but I haven't much of it. Can you share more about this genre of music? I believe there is more modern Celtic style too?

QUOTE: I really want to play celtic fiddle which is basically just the Irish version of violin music.

Then why is it called celtic, and not Irish? :o)

QUOTE: Yes, I really do love singing just as much as I love playing instruments.

Have you taken voice lessons?

QUOTE: Both intrumental and vocal [music].
I'd have to agree! Music is a huge part of my life. :)

QUOTE: No, I have never been to America but I would like to sometime. I think it would be interesting to visit America.

IT WOULD BE! You should come someday. . .it is just phenominal...amazing...
Now things are a tad different with our new president, but...we are still the greatest nation. I am unspeakably proud to be an American, and even with a grim future for her, nothing will make me betray her heritage and what we origanlly stood for.

It must be so interesting in Australia - its a place that I've always found intrigueing.
hahaa...that's neat that your pastor is an American.

Oh, how wonderful!!! - we are Baptist belief too! - though we prefer not to label ourselves, our doctrine could be pinned to Baptist.
