Awards' Night

Hi everyone,

I'm sorry I couldn't post another update any earlier. We've been quiet busy lately and I just haven't had time to sit here and post one. I have a few interesting things to say today: Firstly, tonight it ous yearly Homeschool Award's Night that is held a couple hours away from us. We are taking one of our family friends down with us as their mother is actually away visiting her mother at the moment and isn't able to take the kids. Plus, tonight I am graduating grade 10 which I am excited and nervous about at the same time. We also have a missionary family from our Church coming back from the Philippines and we will have the opportunity to meet them for the first time tonight! And to top it all off, we have been asked to specially sing our vocal quartet which I told you about in the last post, 'In Christ Alone' in front of the audience which is usually about 600 people. Tonight will be our biggest performance yet singing that song! We are a bit nervous but also honoured to have been asked. I really want to use tonight as an opportunity to witness, as not everyone there are Christians. It really is a special blessing to have been given the chance to sing this song tonight. We've already sung this song at a special Homeschool Convention, plus a couple of times at various Church events and now we've been given the opportunity to sing it again tonight.

That's about all for now. I need to go as we are getting prepared to leave. We wouldn't have to go so early except that it is being held a couple of hours away from us. We are stopping off at our grandparents' house on the way to have dinner and get changed and then we are going to go over to the site.

Thanks for reading! Your sister in Christ,

Rebekah-Grace

P.S. I'll tell you all how the night went in a couple of days time. (Hopefully)

Hi Rebekah-Grace!
Wow -- the awards night sounds exciting. I hope it all goes wonderfully! It's always great to have an opportunity to serve the Lord and witness to others through song. Which version of "In Christ Alone" does your quartet sing?

God bless!
Kori

(I hope all goes/went well at your church with you singing!! :)
Hey Rebekah!
Quote:Yes, there is a more modern style of Celtic music but I just prefer the traditional version.
What is the difference between modern style and traditional?

Quote:Well, it is more commonly known as Celtic fiddle but you can also call it Irish fiddle or even Celtic Violin.
So, they use this heavily in Celtic music?

Quote:Yes, I am currently taking Vocal lessons and have been for nearly a year I think. It gets hard to remember how long I've been taking all the different lessons. :-)
You are lucky! I love to sing, though I have just an average voice. :) I've though of taking voice/or operatic vocal lessons.

Quote:It sounds like you are a faithful American! :-) It's nice to see that you are so dedicated to your country.
There is no other place quite like my America. Only I am so heavy hearted over the 2008 election, and pray that Jesus will yet have mercy on our country. It's just devestating....

Quote:Yes, Australia is a wonderful place to be. I love the countryside and the bush over here.
How fascinating! So you are native to the land?? I've always found Australia to be an enthralling place!

Quote:I agree with what you said about the doctrine! Sounds very much like us. :-)
It's so good to meet someone so like minded. :)

Do you have Yahoo/or Gmail chat? :)

Blessings,
Anna

Hello Rebekah! I just recieved your e-mail, and as much as I want to reply to it right now, I'm not going to have enough time --so I thought I'd at least comment and wish you God's blessing on tonight!!! That's so exciting that you're graduating 10th grade, and I'm sure you will do beautifully with "In Christ Alone". It's a gorgeous song. :-) But wow, 600 people! That's a pretty big audiance. =) I'll be praying for you!!! I know you won't get this until at least tomorrow since you're getting home so late, but you have my prayers for tonight! I hope all goes well -- but I'm sure it will.

God Bless!!!

Your Friend,
Dallas
