Official Awards' Night Post

Howdy!

I'm so sorry that I haven't been able to post on our special Awards Night any sooner. We've had a few problems with the computer lately and that is part of the reason I haven't been able to get on. But, I'm now finally getting around to posting all about the night.

Our friend, (the one we were taking with us) arrived at our place at about 12:45 p.m. roughly and we spent some time playing with the guinea-pigs and sorting out the animals before we left at about 1:05 p.m.. Our drive to our grandparents' place took about 2 1/2 - 3 hours and we arrived just in time for afternoon tea. We ended up staying and having an early dinner and heading over to the site from there. When we arrived we saw the large amount of cars, as there always is, and that familiar feeling of nerves/ excitement began to set in. As soon as we got there we spotted our Church bus. Our Pastor had brought our missionary friends on the night. We quickly said hello to them and had to rush in to get ready for our sound check. Plus, I had to be there early to get ready for the grade 10/12 graduation procession. The night went really well. My younger sister and I got up a few different times for various awards and then came the first exciting event. I got up for my grade 10 graduation. It was a very special time that I earnestly thanked my Saviour for. I remember sitting in the seats at Awards Nights in previous years thinking I would never make it to grade 10!  And here I was, standing on stage with my year 10 graduation folder!!! It was a very special time. Now I have the task of completing years 11 and 12 at hand. But all this has only made me realise even more that I am blessed to be able to homeschooled using a Christian curriculum. I never really used to think about it the way I do now. Just a few years ago, as a 10/11 year old I was having quite a lot of trouble with my schoolwork and not completing what I was supposed to and just having a bad time, and yet, nearly 2 weeks ago, I graduated grade 10. Next came the Vocal Quartet which encouraged me and inspired me even more. It was such a wonderful, thrilling, experience to be able to minister and witness through a song that I love singing. I really did feel as though, we were able to witness. I don't know if it inspired or helped anyone else but I know even just from my point of view that it was a wonderful thing to be able to do. Suprisingly, my nerves didn't bother me as much as they usually do and I was able to do a better job then I usually do.  We had quite a few people comment on how much they enjoyed it and were blessed by it and we were able to glorify God which is, in my opinion, the best result we could have hoped for. The rest of the night went well and we enjoyed being with the other homeschoolers. It was a really enjoyable event.

Anyway, I'd better go. I've been on here long enough. I hope you enjoy reading about the Awards Night, finally., and I shall post again soon!

Hi!
I'm glad to hear that the awards night went well.

That feeling of excitement/nerves is quite familiar to me as well, but I've also learned that God's grace is enough to help through those things. :) I wouldn't make it without Him!

Blessings!
Kori
