So - there I am talking to another mom at Hitman's baseball game when who walks up to me? Hitman's principal.... a woman whom I have had some very heated conversations with over Hitman's education. She said, "Hitman told his teacher that he's not coming back to Bauer next year? Is that right?" I said, "We are hoping to be able to homeschool him next year, but all of our plans have not fallen into place as of yet." She said, "Ok, well, please let me know as soon as you know for sure because we have resources and teachers allocated for him. We'll need to plan accordingly if he's not coming back..." I stood there with this fake smile on my face because honestly the only thing that I could think of at that moment was... "You mean like teachers who can't spell, Individualized Education Plans that are not Individualized and dumbed down curriculum that ensures that he will never succeed... THOSE kind of resources?" Luckily, at that very moment, God took over and instead of being angry I just said, "Sure, I'll let you know as soon as we know anything." On another note... I received a call from a woman named Wendy who wanted to see my house. My dad went over and walked her through. The good news? She and her husband are interested! The bad news? They wouldn't be able to move in until September. The worse news? He's just coming off of a bankruptcy so financing could be sticky. I've been using my new clothesline all weekend... I have the sweetest smelling sheets and towels in Ohio! There is NOTHING like it! Hitman asked me "what scent is that, Mom?" Assuming that I had used different fabric softener. I said, "Son - that is the smell of sunshine!" Mmmmm...
