Updates

Well - we WERE going to read Sign of the Beaver - but I made the executive decistion not to... UGH!  We got through a few chapters and I found it very difficult to read and Hitman was not enjoying it.  It seems that the writer was trying too hard to convey the "olden times" in the book.  Everytime we read the word "reckon", Hitman broke into giggles and rolled his eyes.

Instead we began reading what I later discovered was a textbook.  Making Thirteen Colonies by Joy Hakim... what an amazing History book!  We've just completed our study of Jamestown and the Powhatan Indians.  We've begun lapbooking and notebooking and I love the creativity involved!

Our next study is the Solar System.  We're also going to be doing a little more with Geometry in Math.

Hitman was having a great deal of difficulty with spelling and writing, so we've begun a Phonics workbook that I bought at the Knowplace.  So far it seems to be going well.

It's hard to believe that we're coming up on Hitman's birthday, Thanksgiving and Christmas.  So many things to prepare for and so little time!!!   I'd like to think that I'd find time to use this blog to stay organized... lol... but what do you think the chances of that happening are???
