Love / Listen / Learn Live / Laughter
Love the Lord with all your heart, mind, soul, and strength.
"And he answered, "YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR STRENGTH, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND; AND YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF."" ~~ Luke 10:27
Listen to hear God's voice.
"The hearing ear and the seeing eye, the LORD has made both of them." ~~ Proverbs 20:12
Learn to walk in the ways of the Lord.
"You shall walk in all the way which the LORD your God has commanded you, that you may live and that it may be well with you, and that you may prolong your days in the land which you will possess." ~~ Deuteronomy 5:33
Live as Jesus would live.
"Beloved, do not imitate what is evil, but what is good the one who does good is of God; the one who does evil has not seen God." ~~ 3 John 1:11
Laughter is good medicine.
"A joyful heart is good medicine, but a broken spirit dries up the bones." ~~ Proverbs 17:22

Where we allow the flow of the Holy Spirit to lead us:
- To know who we are,
- To know where we are going,
- To know what we are doing,
- To know when we need to do it,
- and to know how to go about it!
"He who believes in Me, as the Scripture said, 'From his innermost being will flow rivers of living water.'" ~ John 7:38 (NASB)

COMMUNION
“ Then Jesus took bread. He gave thanks and broke it. He handed it to them and said, “This is my body. It is given for you. Every time you eat it, do it in memory of me.” In the same way, after the supper he took the cup. He said, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood. It is poured out for you.” ~ Luke 22:19-20 (NIrV).
“ When we give thanks for the cup at the Lord’s Supper, aren’t we sharing in the blood of Christ? When we break the bread, aren’t we sharing in the body of Christ? Just as there is one loaf, so we who are many are one body. We all eat from the one loaf.” ~ I Corinthians 10:16-17 (NIrV)
The Lord's Supper is
1) a proclamation of the gospel,
2) the remembrance of Christ,
3) the feasting on all that God is for us in Jesus;
4) the savoring of the new covenant promises,
5) the call to love, and
6) the call to examine ourselves.
It is all grace and all mercy for those who believe in Christ Jesus. Sometimes tender and sometimes tough. Sometimes sweet and sometimes severe. But always gracious.

Nov. 24, 2008 - Soaking |
SOAKING
Soaking is a dedication: "God this time is just for you."
Soaking is an invitation: "God do what you want to in me."
Soaking is an expectation: "Thank you Father for what you are accomplishing as I rest in you."
We come to Him like little children believing that He has good for us.
"If you then know how to give good gifts to your children how much more will your Heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask Him."
The Bible says that we were created to rest and live in His Presence and in doing that we find our fulfillment and personal purpose for life.
"He gives power to the weak, and to those who have no might He increases strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall, but those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles. They shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint." ~ Isaiah 40:29-31
"Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him." ~ Psalm 37:7
How Do I Soak?
I lie down in a comfortable place.
I listen to instrumental/worship music.
I allow the constant flow of thoughts to quiet down. I don't fight them.
Then, I invite the Holy spirit to soak me in God's presence.
Pray, surrender myself to the Holy Spirit (mind, body and soul).
I focus upon the Lord's presence within me.
I rest in faith, believing He is working in me.
I never look at the clock. I take as much time needed to relax and receive from God.
I feel refreshed and full of the Holy Spirit when I arise.
I notice changes within me as I soak in His presence.

Aug. 21, 2008 - Memory Work |
For memory work, we write out Scripture for the week and also the preposition partial list that is to be memorized for the week. This poster board is then hung on my daughter's bedroom wall. Everytime she sees the poster she is reminded that her list is due on Friday.
This works best for us! |

God is the Living Water
An Ever-flowing Tide
The steady Rock of Ages
An Ocean, vast and wide.
He restores my fleeting spirit
Puts spring into my step
Adds a bit of sunshine
Where Godly things are kept.
He is a Sure Foundation
Removes the doubts and fear
When I am overcome by life
His voice, I often hear.
He is the Rose of Sharon
The Keeper of my Soul
The Lily of the Valley
The One who makes me whole.
He is a Gentle Current
A River, running free
My Refuge at the harbor
An Anchor on life's sea.
He is the Living Water
The Fruit upon the Vine
The Grapes when I am hungry
The Essence and the Wine.
