Jul. 29, 2007 - days end.. ahh
i made it threw this terribly long tiring day! Hallaijia!! ((does this thing have spell checker?) well, we were leaveing my moms house (took the boys over to play outside in her little kiddie pool for abit) and as we were all going out the back door the baby (22 months old) got in front of his brothers, who were infront of my mom, who was infront of me- so baby in front, kids, Mimi then me. and as we are heading down her 4 little steps to the ground, i go to say "whos holding Simon's hand?!" and i hear my mom scream "OH NO!!" nad my oldest yells " THE BABY FELL DOWN THE STEPS!!!" so i dart over everyone and find him laying face down on the concrete slab at the bottom of her steps. my mom had already been in motion to scoop him up so i told the other 2 boys to go get in the van and strap in,. i will be back out in a minute with the baby, i just needed to clean him up some. we take him in and see that he has scraped his chin and knees up. but by the time he was in the house and in the bathroom, he was 100% fine. he had stopped crying all together. his little chin was bleeding some, and when we got out to the van i noticed his knee had started bleeding, but he didnt mind at all. he is SOO tough. but hes still my baby, nad i will still worry about him. :)

Jul. 29, 2007 - yawwnn
oh my. i just cant seem to wake up today! i got up nad make the kids breakfast, ate some myself, cleaned that up, than laid back on the couch. that was it for me ofr an hour or two. now i had to get up cus the baby (2) needed to be changed, but i cant get myself to wake up at all. all i want to do is sleep today. i hope im not coming with something. my dr put me on a new medicine for my fibromyalgia nd migraine prevention (Topamax) so that might be aiding in my sleepiness. anyway, i'm going back to the couch. God Bless, ~Liz

Jul. 27, 2007 - Kids can scare the poopy out of ya!!!
last night while we had the boys out in the back playing on the play set, my littlest guy showed us he is truely made of steel! he FELL from the top of the big slide in the back yard (like 4 1/2 feet at least) and landed on the ground HARD! (i dont know HOW he climbed off it- since it has rails) he scraped his back/sholder a little and has 2 small bump/scratchy spots on the side of his head. but by the time i got him in the house (ASAP) and into the bathroom to wash him up & see how bad he was hurt- he was fine. no more crying , nothing.he was actually laughing by then and splashing me with the water! we called vicki (my MIL who is a RN in the ER) to see if she thought maybe we should go to the ER just incase, but she said if he was acting fine, and looked normal and all...he was fine. scared the bajebus outta me tho! so hes fine. i gave him motrin to help with any boo boos, and he will prolly be all bruised within a day or 2. but like we always say- that boy is TOUGH AS NAILS!
so today he needs his motrin- still sore. but other than that is 100% fine. kids are so resilient!!! i wish us mommy's were!

Jul. 25, 2007 - A new day!
Thank God for the promise of tomorrow. That monster of a migraine went away with time, meds and rest. I am feeling more like myself today, and can hopefully catch up on all the mess that was made yesterday while i was "out of commission"! :)
We have spontanously started renovating the house, room by room! it kinda started as a deep cleaninng project and has turned into a full blown construction site in less than 3 days!! lol within a week or so the kids playroom should be a brand new room! and sp far it hasnt costed us a penny! between left over construction site sheetrock (still new), mother in law's left over paint, and lots of elbow grease and sweat! after thats done we will do each room, one at a time.:) I'm excited!

Jul. 23, 2007 - How we came to Homeschool
it is wonderful how God gives us everything we need to know to be their only teachers. We had wanted to homeschool our kids from th start, but once school age came around for our oldest, he had already been diagnosed with ADHD and we had JUST had our second son (who stayed sick). So we doubted ourselves and went with the crowd and put him on the big yellow bus.then the topic came around again after 2 years of him "not fitting in" in public schools. so we prayed, and prayed about it. We started meeting random people who we not only Christians, but Homeschooled too! so, we were thinking MORE about it- then one sunday at church after we had been talking about it alot and still not decided on anything- our preacher told a whole sermon about how it is OUR job to teach our children!(knowing NOTHING about what we had been trying to decide on) how we cant just assume that the world will teach them the right ways, and on and on. so we KNEW right then and there that it was God telling us, plain and simple, to homeschool. :) I'm glad it was so plain and simple for us. I dont know if we woulda jumped into it if it wasnt! now our lives are so much better. it was the best decision of our lives, and i relize now that my whole life has been training me for being their teacher!

Jul. 23, 2007 - My small contribution to the universe
Hi, my name is Liz. I am a stay at home/homeschooling Mom of 3 small boys. The oldest, Jonathan, just turned 8 last week and has been a ball of energy since he arrived. Due to "ADHD" and several other "diagnosis'" we decieded that it would be best for him and the family to take his education into our own hands. Now after only a year of homeschooling, not only is he calmer, he doesnt HATE school like he had after 2 years of public schooling! He started Kindgarten already reading at 4-5th grade levels and by the end of it he had almost l;ost all of that. He had started to hate to read, and had picked up soo many terrible behaviors that he was hardly the same energetic, smart loving brilliant child he was a year earlier! anyway- thats my jonathan- in a short rant about public schools.
Our middle son, Ethan (the curly headed one), is almost 4. He was the LARGEST of my babies at 9 pounds! he has been the polar opposite of Jonathan since day one. He slept well from day one, was a VERY snuggly baby (still is!) and has had more health issues than i can count. The biggest one (and was the cause of most of the others) was/is his allergy to milk. Not only is he allergic to milk, but he is lactose intolerant too! So- that explained why we had such a hard time finding a formula that agreed with him after i stopped breastfeeding (which i later regreted). ALmost immediatly the ashma attacks, the constant sickness, the constant runny nose, the upset tummies- all went away. If only we had known earlier.
The "baby" (for now anyway) is Simon.he was the smallest of my boys. he was a "mear" 8 pounds. from day one, he was been a mellow, laid back little guy. just going with the flow and never minding the constant comotion going on all around him. he learned how to entertain himslef early, and always enjoyed watching his big brothers. He never had any health issues, and never acted strangly. EXCEPT the fact that he seems to not feel pain as everyone else does. He has never cried at shots, or finger pricks, bonks on the head, scraped knees.... any of it. He WILL cry if it scares him- but that's about it.
Well, thats my boys. Jonathan is now outgrowing his "issues" year by year. Ethan is used to avoiding milk and such things. Simon is "tough as nails" as we tell him daily. and they are ALL better children because we decided to take control of their environment. At home we can monitor what the eat, watch on tv, WHO they talk to, play with or see. and I look forward to having a place to share with others who have done the same. Till we meet~ Liz
