Dyeing Yarn

Posted in Knitting

I dyed yarn for the first time this weekend.  It was SO much fun!  I only dyed one hank of the worsted weight bare from knitpicks and it seems like the WW is a bit on the thin side, but it turned out pretty.  I used koolaid and just kind of mixed until I liked the colors.  I LOVE the orange, but I wished I would've used yellow instead of pink since they look pretty close to the same color.  I'm making a ribbed spiral hat and it's turning out so nice.  Here's a few pictures- I have two more skeins to dye, plus I found a ton of light slate blue superwash I bought off of ebay that I'm not thrilled with so I'll overdye that with blues, greens and purples.

here's a picture of the hat over the ball of yarn- the orange isn't showing up too well, but it's a gorgeous orange:

And here's a close up of the stitches- again the orange isn't photographing well
