Growing in wisdom and stature

Summer fun.
The boys are having lots of fun at Vacation Bible School this week.  The church had a fabulous turn out.  Michael is too old to attend this one but talked his way into being a helper.  He is enjoying it.  Matthew did not want to go, but I made him and now he loves it.

I spent yesterday afternoon making grape jam from last years grapes that I had pureed and froze.  I haven't even made a dent in the grapes.  We had so many last year.  I am grateful since I won't have any this year.  So I am planning to make more jam today and maybe some syrup.  Paul's mom found a recipe on line for a grape pie - I have never heard of such a thing.  It doesn't sound good to me but I will try almost anything once.  We will have to see how it goes.

Zucchini is abundance right now.  We had zucchini cooked on the grill last night.  It was so good.  Thanks Karen for the recipe!  Today I need to grate some up and freeze it.  We have also been given a ton of tomatoes that I need can, too.  I have been told that we will be getting a lot more soon.

Peaches and nectarines should be ready in another week or so and we will have those to do up.

I am thankful that it has cooled down.  Canning back when it was over a 100 degrees wasn't even my idea of fun.   The weather is so pleasant this week.  It is great.
