Mar. 25, 2006 - spring sewing goals
Sewing
Well, I wish I could say that I am an expert seamstress, but I am a novice at best. Regardless, I still like to try and I have provided some neat things for my girls. Now my dear friend "c" is an incredible seamstress. Perhaps some day she will post pictures on her blog from the items she made using the sense and sensibility patterns . I hope I will be able to make some of their dresses some day. My goal is to make the Regency gowns for me and my girls.
Went to walmart last night and bought 3 new patterns all It's so easy Simplicity paterns (#4362, #4927, # 4572) The last one if for Princess C and I am going to modify this pattern. I am going to do the capris and I am going to do a modified top. I am going to do a top that is half way between the length of the top and dress. I am most excited about the first pattern for Lady M. This pattern is just too cute for words.
I am on my way to walmart right now to buy fabric- they were already closed last night. I will be sure and post pcites with my little models once I get something complete. Please pray for succes because my girls really need these new clothes.
Until we meet again...

Thanks for the tip on how to link! I was clicking on the link button and entering the address before I typed in the words! The solution is so simple! Thanks for taking a minute to help me out with that.
I am just learning to sew alongside my 8 year-old daughter. (Kind of the blind leading the blind! :-) ) She really wants to learn, and I know there are things I would like to sew if I just learn the basics.
Happy sewing!

I've used pattern 4927 several times and I plan to use 4572 in the near future. I made several dresses using 4927; I just used different trims, different types of fabric, and all the dresses look different. It was one of the first patterns I used in my effort to teach myself to sew.
Happy Sewing,
Gina
