Dedicated to the Biblical Principle of
Deuteronomy 6:5-8

"Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the door frames of your houses and on your gates."

Apr. 2, 2007 - Do you deserve your high school diploma quiz?
Quizes and Games

I found this quiz over at Quiet Cajun's blog so I decided to give it a try.  I was very pleased with my results.  Although, I have to admit I bet much of what I knew was more because of homeschooling my children and less about my astute memory.

You paid attention during 91% of high school!

85-100% You must be an autodidact, because American high schools don't get scores that high! Good show, old chap!

Do you deserve your high school diploma?

Well, Thanks Quiet Cajun for sharing this because it was just the thing to get me back into the blogging groove.

Huge to all!

Jul. 11, 2006 - My one AND ONLY tag!
Quizes and Games

I am only doing this because it is my very best girl friend .  After this I will be a TAG FREE ZONE.  (Luv ya c)

OK here we go...

1.Grab the book nearest to you, turn to page 18, find line 4 and write what it says.

"...him. He smiled back." (Asylum by Nan Corbitt Allen)

 2. Stretch your left arm out as far as you can. What can you touch?

air- since we are remodeling my desk is kind of in the middle of the room.

3. What is the last thing you watched on TV?

Can't remember TV per se as it has been so long, but on the TELEVISION we watched Monster's Inc with Sir "C" tonight

4. Without looking, guess what time it is.  1:00

5. Now look at the clock. What is the actual time? 12:17-  Okay, guess that Benedryl I took is starting to take effect!

 6. With the exception of the computer, what can you hear?

the ceiling fan and my DH sawing logs

 7. When did you last step outside? What were you doing?

about 8:15 when Sir "C" and I stepped out on the front porch to great Daddy as he came in from work.

8. Before you started this survey, what did you look at?

Littlebitofeverythingmama's kids blogs- go check them out!!!

9. What are you wearing?

red nightgown with white hearts all over it

10. Did you dream last night?

not that i remember

11. When did you last laugh?

This evening when I read LBOEM post about running around the house

12. What is on the walls of the room you are in?

sheet rock, tape and bedding, and paint- OK I am NOT being a smarty here on one wall it is JUST SHEETROCK, on another wall the tape and bedding has been done but no paint, and another wall has the new paint on it!

what isn't weid lately

14. What do you think of this quiz?

time consuming but not bad....

15. What is the last film you saw?

Monster's Inc. - tonight

This one is a family favorite- who doesn't like Boo and Sully?!?!?!

16. If you became a multi-millionaire overnight, what would you buy?

Land, build a farm house, develop a homestead.  Set up my kitchen to properly accommodate whole foods cooking (come on, you know what I am talking about), Oh, and after purchasing land, but before building said house we would purchase an RV and tour America.  We want to do a historical tour AND a Major League baseball tour.

17. Tell me something about you that I don’t know.

I LOVE power tools!

18. If you could change one thing about the world, regardless of guilt or politics, what would you do?

Child abuse- all forms, all ages, it breaks my heart.  I have seen first hand the devastating effects.  I have lived with children who were broken down because of it, some became bitter because of it, and some set out to destroy the lives of other's because of it.  It is just a vicious cycle that must end!

19. Do you like to dance?

OH YEAH!!!

20. Comment to George Bush:

Mr. President,

No words can begin to express for the gratitude I have for the way you have returned honor to our country.  Thank you for leading this great nation through the biggest trial of my lifetime.  I am sorry that our country suffered at the hands of others but I am proud that you led us out of the rubble.

21. Imagine your first child is a girl, what do you call her?

Well, when we thought our first was a girl we had it narrowed down to 3 names: Reagan Nicole, Carson Nicole and Delaney Nicole

22. Imagine your first child is a boy, what do you call him?

Our first child did not get the names listed above instead he got the only two names in a 5000 name baby book that DH and I could agree on

23. Would you ever consider living abroad?

I think my current situation is a testament that we will go wherever God leads us.

24. What do you want God to say to you when you reach the pearly gate?

.Well done my good and faithful servant

25. 3 people who you would like to do this quiz in THEIR blog:

no one- I am breaking the cycle.

Jul. 9, 2006 - A Flip Flop State of Mind
Quizes and Games

I am participating in Eyecorns FLIP FLOP CONTEST so I wanted to post my picture and this cute little pledgeI found several years ago.  Let me also express how difficult it is to take a picture of your own feet!  It made my shoes look like they don't fit!  However the sacrifice was worth it to participate in the contest and have a chance to win the great goodies that eyecorn has instore.

The Open Toed Shoe Pledge

As a member of the Cute Girl Sisterhood, I pledge to follow the Rules when
I wear sandals and other open-toe shoes:

I promise to always wear sandals that fit. My toes will not hang over and
touch the ground, nor will my heels spill over the backs.

And the sides and tops of my feet will not pudge out between the straps.

I will go polish-free or vow to keep the polish fresh, intact and
chip-free. I will not cheat and just touch up my big toe. I will sand down
any mounds of skin before they turn hard and yellow.

I will shave the hairs off my big toe.

I won't wear pantyhose even if my misinformed girlfriend, coworker, mother,
sister tells me the toe seam really will stay under my toes if I tuck it
there.

If a strap breaks, I won't duct-tape, pin, glue or tuck it back into place
hoping it will stay put. I will get my shoe fixed or toss it.

I will not live in corn denial; rather I will lean on my good friend Dr.
Scholl's if my feet need him.

I will resist the urge to buy jelly shoes at Payless for the low, low price
of $4.99 even if my feet are small enough to fit into the kids' sizes. This
is out of concern for my safety, and the safety of others. No one can walk
properly when standing in a pool of sweat and I would hate to take someone
down with me as I fall and break my ankle.

I will take my toe ring off toward the end of the day if my toes swell and
begin to look like Vienna sausages.

If I have been privy to the magic that is Foot Soup, I will share that
knowledge and experience with the non-initiated.

I will be brutally honest with my girlfriend/sister/coworker when she asks
me if her feet are too ugly to wear sandals. Someone has to tell her that
her toes are as long as my fingers and no sandal makes creepy feet look
good.

I will promise if I wear flip flops that I will ensure that they actually
flip and flop, making the correct noise while walking and I will swear NOT
to slide or drag my feet while wearing them.

I will promise to go my local beauty school at least once per season and
have a real pedicure (they are about $10 and worth EVERY penny).

I will promise to throw away any white/off-white sandals that show signs of
wear...nothing is tackier than dirty white sandals...
Don't keep this to yourself - pass it on to other sisters.
