Apr. 14, 2006 - My skirt is done!
Sewing
What a blessing. My skirt is done. It didn't turn out exactly as I had hoped but it is extremely comfortable. I have the same fabric in a different color so I will make some changes before completing that skirt. Over all I am very happy and this skirt will make a nice addition to my wardrobe. Now it is time to move on to the next project.

Enjoy the pics. Until we meet again...

Apr. 12, 2006 - So excited that it is done : )
Sewing
I finished Princess C's dress this evening. I probably spent another hour on it so I spent a total of 3-3.5 hours. Princess C loved it which was the most important thing. I have decided that I quite like this look. While at Jo-Ann's today I did notice that they had a very nice selection of Indian design fabrics. Incredibly beautiful. I love all thr bright vivid colors. NExt time that I get a nice coupon I am going to have to buy same fabric to make me a similar outfit. Anyway, back to the Easter outfit. Here are the promised pictures.

Now all I have left is my skirt. I am not making it out of the same material but instead out of this gauzy material in earthy colors. Just love those earth tones.

Apr. 12, 2006 - Almost Done
Sewing
I spent a couple hours this afternoon and evening working on the dress that goes with Princess C's bottoms. I have everything done except the arm holes and the bottom hem. She is very excited about how it is turning out. The outfit on together almost had an Indian flair to it. Bright colorful coordinating materials, a loose fitting bottom and a top/dress that goes well past the bottom. Once I get done with the last couple of items I will have her try it on and pose for a picture. In the meantime, here is how it looks for now.

Once I get this complete I will have to quickly throw together my skirt for Easter Sunday. The fabric is beautiful and I can't wait to get my hands on it to begin sewing. Until we meet again...

Apr. 3, 2006 - Lady M's dress is done!
Sewing
I am exctied. The bloomers took me MUCH longer than I expected, but they are done plus they turned out very cute. . I should have waited to hem the dress until the bloomers were done because I ended up taking the dress up another two inches (should have been another three). The bloomers aren't showing up/sticking out the bottom as much as I had hoped. For summer I think the bloomers are the perfect length though. For winter I am going to lengthen the bloomers. I think over all it turned out way better than I expected. We have decided that this will be her Easter outfit and I will make Princess C an outfit out of the same material. I still need to make the bag for the outfit, but that should be pretty quick. I will post more pictures when I get the next outfit done.

Mar. 29, 2006 - one dress is complete : )
Sewing
Lady M's dress is complete!

It turned out pretty good considering it is the first dress I have ever made (or anything with sleeves for that matter). It isn't prefect but is certainly wearable. I am even considering it as her Easter dress, but will have to see if the next one turns out cuter. I still have to put the button on plus I have to make the bloomers which will be the same stripe that the pockets are in and then I will make a little bag to go with it. The bag will use both materials. When I get those things done I will have Lady M model and I will take more pics to share. After I finish Lady M's I have to start on an outfit for Princess C.

Mar. 25, 2006 - spring sewing goals
Sewing
Well, I wish I could say that I am an expert seamstress, but I am a novice at best. Regardless, I still like to try and I have provided some neat things for my girls. Now my dear friend "c" is an incredible seamstress. Perhaps some day she will post pictures on her blog from the items she made using the sense and sensibility patterns . I hope I will be able to make some of their dresses some day. My goal is to make the Regency gowns for me and my girls.
Went to walmart last night and bought 3 new patterns all It's so easy Simplicity paterns (#4362, #4927, # 4572) The last one if for Princess C and I am going to modify this pattern. I am going to do the capris and I am going to do a modified top. I am going to do a top that is half way between the length of the top and dress. I am most excited about the first pattern for Lady M. This pattern is just too cute for words.
I am on my way to walmart right now to buy fabric- they were already closed last night. I will be sure and post pcites with my little models once I get something complete. Please pray for succes because my girls really need these new clothes.
Until we meet again...
