These are our plans so far. I just have to get everything printed up and into our folders for next week!:) My husband is out of town for the next couple of days so I am going to be trying to get a lot of this organized!
This week we are taking it slow. I am not pressuring anyone to do their school work this week. We are only doing a couple of subjects a day!
I am really wanting to go to the 3 weeks on and 1 week off schedule. I am having a hard time doing this so we are just going to take 1 week out of the month to just go slower. I am letting them have more free time to play!
We have started with our new Rod and Staff books.
I had ordered Grammar, Spelling, and Reading. So far so good. Today Catlyn said Grammar is her favorite subject. So I guess that these are working out so far!

We did not get to Science this week. We may do some tomorrow, not sure yet. I have been sick for the last week and I think I am finally over it. So I hope to be back in the groove of things next week!!
I am finding it very hard to get motivated to get music, art and poetry done. I don't know why. I love all of these things. But I always put them off and then they never get done.
My husband is going on a business trip this weekend.
Not looking forward to that. Weekends are really are only time together, but I guess I have to share him. He gets to give a talk at this conference and he is excited to get away for a while. He always has fun on these trips. I am sure we will have a sleep over in my room both nights he is gone. The kids love sleeping in our room. So I am sure I will have 3 kids, 2 dogs and a cat in bed with me.
Today I am having a hard time getting into doing school. We covered the basics and now we are just laying around watching tv and about to eat lunch.
Colin is in his room for hitting his brother and Catlyn is making peanut butter and banana sandwiches for lunch.
Well, we are already done with school for today.
Today we:

Charles Handwriting: HWT the letter P
Catlyn History: SOTW2 Ch. 23
Charles Phonics: 100 easy lessons, lesson 49
Catlyn Latin: Prima Latina lesson 9 vocabulary
My husband is home today also. There is a thin slice of ice on the road and everything here in Texas shuts down. He is in the middle of a game of Scrabble with Catlyn and the boys are playing. So I thought I would set and mess around on the computer instead of doing my chores!!:)
I guess I will go start a load of laundry. I am in the process of decluttering this house. My wonderful hubby helped me clean out our room this weekend. You would not believe how much stuff we got rid of!! I think we through away 2 trash bags of stuff we decided that no one would want and at least 5 bags of stuff to go to Goodwill. It is amazing what happens when two pack rats get married and have kids that are pack rats!!
We are going to be homeschooling through the summer this year to get caught up on somethings. So here is what we are going to be using to finish this year and go right into next year. This is just for my dd 4th grade. I am still working on my ds that is in K this year but we will go right into first grade when we are done with his k books. We are using mostly Well Trained Mind but are going to be using Rod and staff book plus some Ambleside Online thrown in.
4th grade and then what we are going to use for 5th:
Math: Math u see Finish Gamma(7 lessons left)and go straight into Delta. I hope to have to have Epsilon started and hopefully almost finished by the end of summer '08.
History: Finish SOTW2(we have about 14 more chapters)and start SOTW3. I will also be using Kingfisher's History encyclopedia, geography coloring book, and National Geographic Atlas for young explorers.
I am also hoping I can get her to learn to outline.
Handwriting/Copywork: Classicly Cursive
Latin: Finish Prima Latina(10 more lessons) and start Latina Christiana Set 1
Grammar: When it arrives(If it ever does!!)Rod and Staff Grammar for 4th grade and then go right into 5th grade.

Literature: Long list of books I would love to have her have read before the end of 5th grade. To long to post right now. We will be doing these as read-alouds, plus she has joined a book club with our local home school group. I am sure they will read some of these books. She will also start reading for at least 1 hour a day to herself. So we should be able to get most of these read.
Music: AO selections plus we are hoping to get her into piano lessons

Poetry- AO
Shakespeare- one Shakespeare play each term
This is all subject to change. I have not received my Rod and staff books so I am not sure if they will work for us.
My Christmas present just arrived. My husband ordered me a laptop!!! Now I have to wait until he gets home from work to set it all up for me with the internet and stuff. I am very excited!!!
Well, we are back on track for most of school. I am awaiting the arrival of some new books. Until they arrive Catlyn will just be doing history, science, latin, and math. Charles will only be doing phonics and math. His new handwriting program just came. Handwriting without tears. He is dying to get started. I guess we will start that tomorrow. I am amazed after our long break that the kids jumped right into doing school without complaining. I guess we all needed that long break!:)
Homeschoolestore.com has a really cute freebie this week. It is a children's music program. It looks really cute. I haven't looked at it real hard but I am thinking of trying it out. We diffently need more music in our days. This program seems just the right age range for my kids. I am having a hardtime getting our music study done. It is pretty sad when you have music history major in the house and you can't get to the music. We are thinking of putting Catlyn piano lessons. I think she would love it. We got a free piano a couple of months ago.
