• Jan. 25, 2006 - Working & Homeschooling

Looks like I need to find a part-time job, maybe full-time, to help our family get out of some financial problems. I have lots of options that I can check into, but I haven't worked a "regular job" in 18 years! I'm not sure what I will do about schooling either. My oldest will graduate this year, but I still have a 10th grader, 4th grader and 4 yo at home...they have never been to "school." The thought of sending them to school or daycare is hard for me to accept, but I'm willing, if that's what God wants. I don't know what His will is right now, but I do know that He doesn't want us to stay in bondage of debt. I'd love to hear from others in this situation!

You have a wide age range of children like us. I am wondering, could you seek employment that would compliment your hubby's schedule to afford you to school your children while still bringing in an income?

Most of the moms in our group work and school. Whacky wal-mart shifts, courier fro hospital labs, newspaper routes, late night stockers, early shift at a bakery, , real estate, these are all jobs that are held by homeschooling moms in our comunity to afford them to continue their children's education, but keep their heads above water too.
