I know... global warming stuff... but don't tune me out just yet.

I was sitting in church yesterday reading bits of Revelation. Our pastor is out of town and the youth pastor was speaking - and bless his heart - I just couldn't pay attention. Anyway... I was reading about the end times.

Here is Rev. 8:1 -...

1When he opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven for about half an hour.

 2And I saw the seven angels who stand before God, and to them were given seven trumpets.

 3Another angel, who had a golden censer, came and stood at the altar. He was given much incense to offer, with the prayers of all the saints, on the golden altar before the throne. 4The smoke of the incense, together with the prayers of the saints, went up before God from the angel's hand. 5Then the angel took the censer, filled it with fire from the altar, and hurled it on the earth; and there came peals of thunder, rumblings, flashes of lightning and an earthquake.

Now. I am a pre-trib believer (that is, I believe God will rapture the bride before the tribulation begins), so I do not believe that we are currently living in the tribulation period. HOWEVER, I firmly believe we are nearing that time. Everything that is spoken of in Revelation is already taking place on earth at this time. Here is the thing that has me thinking the most right now.

WHAT IF the global warming "religion" that is spreading throughout the globe today is only providing an "earthly explanation" for the trumpet judgements?

Just bear with me here.

Global warming activists promise that unless we make drastic changes in the harm we are causing the earth TODAY, we will reap the damages very soon. They promise death, flooding, fires, drought, hunger and starvation, civil wars caused by displaced millions, etc, etc, etc.

Here is what the Bible promises the trumpet judgements will bring: (also Rev. 8)

7The first angel sounded his trumpet, and there came hail and fire mixed with blood, and it was hurled down upon the earth. A third of the earth was burned up, a third of the trees were burned up, and all the green grass was burned up.

 8The second angel sounded his trumpet, and something like a huge mountain, all ablaze, was thrown into the sea. A third of the sea turned into blood, 9a third of the living creatures in the sea died, and a third of the ships were destroyed.

 10The third angel sounded his trumpet, and a great star, blazing like a torch, fell from the sky on a third of the rivers and on the springs of water— 11the name of the star is Wormwood.^[a] A third of the waters turned bitter, and many people died from the waters that had become bitter.

 12The fourth angel sounded his trumpet, and a third of the sun was struck, a third of the moon, and a third of the stars, so that a third of them turned dark. A third of the day was without light, and also a third of the night.

Here is the press release, "Global Warming in full effect - Scientists say we did not make significant changes quickly enough to stop damages".

The 5th trumpet brings a smoking furnace of a meteor that releases the "locust like" things that plague the earth stinging and tormenting those without the mark of the Lord on their heads. Could be explained as a mutation of normal locusts - natural selection type thing that evolved because of the changing climate.

The 6th trumpet releases 4 horsemen that kill with fire, smoke and sulfur. Doesn't take much imagination to see where that could be explained away - especially if the horsemen are really only seen by believers - and non-believers feel the effects. 2 hundred million die from that one.

The 7th trumpet brings lightening, thunder, earthquakes and a great hail storm. Again... all meterological events that could be explained in such a way.

Just paying attention to news reports and watching to see what transpires. The way it is playing out right now is that the conservative Christian sect are the ones who are the most anti-global warming propaganda. Well, of course the Christians all dissappear then all this bad stuff starts happening! It is easy to see how the hatred and persecution of Christ-followers can begin with something such as this.

And the saddest thing of all...

Rev. 9:20 - "The rest of mankind that were not killed by these plagues still did not repent of the work of their hands; they did not stop worshiping demons, and idols of gold, silver, bronze, stone and wood—idols that cannot see or hear or walk. 21Nor did they repent of their murders, their magic arts, their sexual immorality or their thefts."
