Nov. 14, 2007 - My Birthday Surprise
Hi,
The sixth of November is my birthday. This year I turned ten.
So the day before my birthday, my brother and sister bought me the cutest little 5 week old albino guinea pig with little pink eyes!!!!! I've had her for a little over a week now, she is quite a handful! Once she even got lost for a day and a night , but fortunately we found her!! Today I took her outside to eat some grass, and next thing I knew, she ran into the only bush in the yard that had a greywater hose under it!!!!! She got so muddy i had to bathe the little angel for nearly half an hour!!!!!!! Well, she likes hiding, that's for sure!
I made her a hiding place out of a tissue box. That's all for now.

Oct. 26, 2007 - My backyard friends
Hi,
My household job is laundry, and with 9 people, there is a lot of it. Let's just say I spend a lot of time at the clothes line every day.
Every time I go out there, a young Willy Wagtail is sitting on the neighbor's fence.
There is also a pigeon making a nest in one of our neighbors' trees. I have watched it take bits of straw from the yard across the road. Using the straw, it weaves together the branches on its tree and has made a small cave with the weaved branches. It even picked up a couple of red flowers and put it right next to the nest.
My brother thinks that the Willy Wagtail is guarding the nest for the pigeon while it goes out and gets more twigs.
The pigeon tries to trick me into thinking that it is just eating.
It's kind of funny sometimes. Even the Willy Wagtail holds on to the wire and swings around.
Watching my little friends certainly makes my job more enjoyable.

Hi! My name is Shannon. I live in Australia, and I am one of seven children.
I have the cutest Baby Sister in the world. Yes, really! :)
We live on 3/4 acres with a dog, a cat, 6 chickens and 3 parrots. Mum says we have too many pets and the young roosters and the parrots are living on borrowed time. The cat, too, if he doesn't remember where the litter box is.
