Writing the Joy of Every Glorious Day...

May. 24, 2009 - Time for a Post!

  Hey Everyone!

What's been happening lately? Well, let's see. I had a very busy day on Friday. My Dad is a chaplain at the United States Naval Academy, and on Friday all of the seniors had their graduation. Arya, I and a couple friends went to watch. President Obama was there. He spoke, and shook the hands of all 1,000 graduates, which was pretty cool. I had never been to a graduation before, so it was interesting. It was neat to hear the names of the seniors that we know, and to see them shaking the President's hand. Unfortunately, they will all leave now to serve either in the Navy or the Marine Corps. A couple of them that I know, are going to ships in Japan. They are all very excited.

Also on Friday, we had our piano recital. It went very well. I played one solo and two duets. After several months of working on them, I was relieved to finally be done playing those songs, but I did enjoy them. And a little surprise; at the end, my teacher awarded me a half-semester scholarship to her studio! I was very excited, as this will make it a little easier for all four of us to continue taking lessons. Afterwards, as is our tradition, our family went out for milkshakes, which was a lot of fun.

Yesterday, we were able to swim for the first time this year. We opened the pool about a week or so ago, but it took a little while to get it all cleaned out and to have the chemicals properly adjusted. We had a lot of fun swimming yesterday and today. I think it's going to rain for the next few days, so we got in as much swimming as possible!

Well, I think that's pretty much it. God bless!

  In Christ,

  Christine

PS: One more thing I wanted to add: I had been working on reading, "The Brothers Karamazov" by Fyodor Dostoevsky for a little over a week. It is a 729 page book, and I finally finished it yesterday. Hooray! It was very interesting, but I won't try to write a review on it right now ;-)

May. 25, 2009 - Heyy

Thanks for commenting instead of sending me a PM... I get annoyed because I get like 15 a day asking me to be friends, whereas none of the people send me comments... and they can't even spell properly... O________________O
Lol
I'm kinda eccentric that way. ^_^
So anyway, sure we can be friends! :) I see you want to be an author when you grow up. Well if that's true, my next entry will apply to you.
Thanks so much for dropping by!

OH yes!!! :D I think you're my first person to say they'll help. I haven't checked my facebook page yet, but I really want it to work!
Yeah, it gets quite annoying. O.o
I honestly don't mind PMing people if it has a PURPOSE. If it just says
"heywussuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuup" which I get quite often
It is annoying.
Lol
So this is great! I"m really excited about this magazine thing...my mom's an author, so she can help me get it set up, and then when I have enough people telling me they'll help (which will hopefully only take a week) I'll e-mail/private message everyone asking for their stuff to submit, and where we should have the magazine. :)
Ok?
thanks so much!

May. 27, 2009 - Thnaks!

For the fiction, I was thinking either short stories, or 3 short stories to make a "series" that we could put a new one up every month. These stories would be about 1200 words or so. It really isn't that long... when you get going, it's hard to keep it down!
I'm sure you know that already though.
That's GREAT! It's so hard to write devotionals at times, so if you have some that would be simply amazing. :)
I like Penda... because Penda Magazine for girls sounds cool. Lol and also, more people would know what "vida" means because lots of people speak spanish.. that's why I went for Swahili, because NO ONE speaks Swahili unless they're african, or me. Lol xD
Thanks so much for your help! you have no idea how happy I am!
If you want to, you can e-mail me a bunch of your stuff right now, because even if I don't put it in the July issue, I could use it in future ones, so that people have even more time to get their stuff ready.
There is a link that says "e-mail me" on my profile, and you can do that if you want. :) e-mail's good. Lol you can attach stuff.
I love attachments/
So yeah, whenever your ready, just e-mail me the stuff. the sooner the better! :D
Thanks so much!

Thank you so much for the comment! Actually, I am not really good at writing things....I was kind of hoping there was something else I could help out with.... like sending things out. Or something like that. :-) Today I am going to send message out to all my friends telling them about it! :-) That is neat that you are going to help with the devotional!

May. 28, 2009 - Yeah sure!

Go ahead and tell her!
I'm thinking the 3-part story might not work anymore, because it's going to be so much work to get the magazine going for me that I"m thinking of starting out as a quarterly magazine instead of a monthly until it starts running smoothly. :)
But I still want tons of stuff! I'm hoping to have the first one out as early as September, which is pretty good considering I have exams coming up and am away all summer. O.o
so it's going to be tight for me. :)
Please tell your friends! and send me stuff! Lol

Hi Christine!
How are you doing? I thought I'd leave a comment as I haven't recently. I hadn't noticed your music before (I always have the speakers off because...well actually it's a long story), it's very enjoyable!
So have you been writting recently? I hope you're still working on your story!
God Bless!

May. 30, 2009 - Gah!

Sorry I took so long to reply to you!
I've been so busy trying to get everything ready!
Thanks so much for submitting that article!
it was exactly what I needed to prove to me that this could actually work!
Yeah, I"m thinking quarterly will be good. Or once every other month. So there'll be an august/september issue, october/november etc.

I'm looking forward to getting the other articles! :D
