Set Apart Girl Retreat
with Leslie Ludy

Oakland Christian Church
I am so excited about bringing this event to our area! In a way, I feel like Leslie Ludy has been my mentor, even though I will meet her for the very first time at this retreat. Her influence began when I was a young teenager reading her book When God Writes Your Love Story, and continued in my later-teen years through Authentic Beauty. Most recently, God brought her latest book, Set-Apart Femininity into my life with timing that could not have been more perfect. Growing up in a culture that exalts in the Paris', Brittany's and Jessica's, I feel passionately that girls from my generation need Leslie's message more than ever.
And what is that message? To challenge young women to rise above the status quo; to "inspire the young women of today to become one of 'the few' who go to all lengths for the Lord who died to save them. To challenge young women to find their security and identity in Jesus Christ; to discover Him as the true Prince and Lover of their soul; to realize that He and He alone can meet the deepest needs and longings of the feminine heart. So often we as women look everywhere but Christ, trying desperately to fulfill our desire for love and security through flings with guys, the approval of the world, our popularity status, and the pleasures of pop-culture."
